A B O U T
Tangle is one of the newer additions to the Endeavor crew. Without a marketable skill at the time of hiring, they started off as a deck swab under the Captain’s watchful eye. However, they quickly developed an interest in Shoal’s line of work after the older dragon constructed Tangle’s first set of prosthetic wings, taking inspiration from the sails they were in charge of mending.

Tangle was accepted as an apprentice sailmaker upon request, though their aversion to gore precludes them from assisting Shoal with any of their surgeries. As Tangle continues to pick up new skills, they have been making modifications to the initial design of their new wings, as well as collecting colorful scraps of cloth to add patches and personalize the prosthetics to their own tastes.

They have also begun to offer a repair service, mending the standard wear and tear of their crewmate’s clothing for a small fee. For a time, one of their more frequent clients was Wayland, whose oddly fancy jacket required consistent care to maintain its condition. Tangle got along remarkable well with the mirror, but Wayland has recently and suddenly become intent on avoiding them, leaving them rather hurt and confused by the change.

Instead of dwelling on it, Tangle has delved into new hobbies, using their spare time to stitch together loose pages into bound folios used by a few members of the crew. Some of the resulting journals are set aside for personal use, as Tangle has a dream of writing novels that will one day enrapture the population of Sornieth. The stories they tell are full of soaring highs and crashing lows, wild adventures and tragic romances, often inspired by what they have seen and done even over their short lifetime.

They have also recently taken to transcribing the fanciful tales Morgan shares about their crew during port visits. Perhaps someday the lightly embellished stories of the Endeavor crew will be bound and published for future generations alongside Tangle’s planned bibliography.

H I S T O R Y
Tangle wasn’t born a spiral, but no dragon would guess that fact based on their behavior. They are rambunctious and high energy, contrasting starkly with the only other spiral dragon in the crew of the Endeavor, their mentor Shoal.

Tangle is frequently challenging their crewmates to races that weave through the rigging and into the airspace around the ship, always eager to test the limits of their new wings. Though their small size means being defeated often, it doesn’t seem to put much of a damper on their enthusiasm.

They grew up in the western region of the Ashfall Wastes that borders the Zephyr Steppes, watching young Wind flight dragons learn to fly from across the river and desiring to one day become a racing dragon. When they came of age, they even sought out an expensive breed change that would qualify them for many of the more exclusive Windswept Plateau events.

Unfortunately, their racing career was over before it began, after a training accident left the membranes of their wings damaged beyond repair. They allowed themself to wallow through a few festivals before deciding to seek out a new dream, taking a position on a trading vessel that travels all over Sornieth in the hope of finding adventure.
