Biography
Tantras Co-Leader/Gaurd Captian Tantras has seen times beyond his small clan. Long, long before it. He’s been around for many years, watched kings rise and fall. He started his life as a wide-eyed and hopeful guard for his birth clan’s prison. He was young, but he caught on very quickly to combat training. In fact, he shined among all of his peers. As time went on, he felt a fire in his heart that called him to travel. So when he came of age, he followed his desire and left home. |
Only a few short years of traveling, and he decided to settle in the Tangled Wood. There, he was employed as a bodyguard to a tyrant king. It was only the first in many such jobs, and Tantras performed well. When his king was defeated, he traveled on. He was still very young, very strong, and spent much of his life jumping from soldier job to guard job and then back again. It all changed when he finally settled down in a large clan on the Windswept Plateau. There, Tantras was assigned to guard a prince. The prince was a spoiled rich skydancer who spent far too much of his life with his head in the clouds. He was a coward, he was annoying, and he. Never. Stopped. Talking. Tantras hated him instantly. But the job paid well and the territory was rich with life. It was worth the suffering, he supposed. The prince’s name was Kai, and he found Tantras far more likable than the gaoler found the young prince. He spent every waking minute trying in vain to impress his bodyguard, who he viewed as the only dragon who paid any attention to who he really was instead of the princely persona he was supposed to be. Tantras had reached adulthood by this point, and he was quickly growing exhausted with the adolescent prince’s antics. “Tantras, do you think I’d have better luck flying through the Crescendo if I went in upside down?” Kai inverted his wings to demonstrate what he meant. “I think you should stay on the ground for one moment in your life,” Tantras replied irritably. As a gaoler, he could not fly. It made his bodyguard job difficult when Kai barely ever left the air. “Boring… here I go!” Kai replied, flying straight up and taking a swan dive into the massive swirling cyclone. Tantras ran a paw over his eyes in exhaustion. “Let me know how this turns out for you,” he laid down as if preparing to take a nap. He kept his eyes up though, waiting for the skydancer to inevitably get thrown out of the tornado. Shockingly enough, Kai’s powerful wings were enough for him to emerge through the bottom unharmed. He landed easily in front of Tantras and raised his chin proudly. Tantras was shocked. It was the first time Kai’s attempts to show off had ever truly impressed him. And ever since that feat, he decided to give the prince a chance to prove himself. Over time, Kai did begin to grow on Tantras. He was learning and growing up all with the help of Tantras. It meant a lot. So much so that the gaoler looked at him as the little brother he’d never asked for but was gifted with anyway. He even grew to love him as a brother would. |

But no great thing will last forever. And this happy life of Tantras’s came to a screeching halt many years later. Kai had reached adulthood and had taken over the clan from his father, and Tantras had stuck by his side. Unfortunately, Kai had never lost his recklessness. When he heard rumors of a pack of dire wolves in the area, he decided to take them on himself. Tantras forbade it, but Kai snuck out that night when all were sound asleep. When Tantras awoke to find his ward gone, he took off into the night, tracking the young prince by scent alone. However, it was all too late. Tantras never forgot the sight of his friend’s blood, and in desperation, he fought. The pack overpowered him, and he had no choice but to flee. He was badly wounded by the fangs of the dire wolves, collapsing only a few miles away. A small mirror named NightShade happened upon him by chance. “Gentle! I found… a dragon?” NightShade had never seen a gaoler before. He was already performing a certain healing spell. It didn’t erase the wounds, but Tantras found himself able to stand and walk. He reluctantly followed the dragons back to their clan and let himself fully recover from the attack. “So what happened to you?” NightShade asked curiously. “Dire wolves,” the warrior answered. His voice was clipped. “Why were you near a dire wolf pack?” “Trying to… help someone.” “Oh… are they still out there?” GentleBreeze tensed as if prepared to leave right then and there and save whoever had been abandoned. A short moment of silence. “No. He’s not.” The loss was tremendous, but the gaoler decided rather quickly that he wouldn’t return to his old clan. There was nothing left for him there anymore. His brother was gone, he had no family if he’d yearned for one much of his life. He chose to stay with the strangers instead and was quickly appointed second in command. Over time, he grew close with them. NightShade was his best friend and words could not begin to describe the respect he’d gained for his leader. GentleBreeze was, as her name suggested, very kind, but she was more than ready to protect her family as well. He admired it. And after just a little more time, another gaoler joined the clan… Asifah. She was beautiful and fiercely loyal and Tantras was smitten with her. He could finally start a family of his own. And though he never forgot the young prince who’d gotten him this far, Tantras looks to every dawn as a brand new chance to do something great. He is a stoic warrior, and he doesn’t share everything that’s happening inside his head, but he will protect his new clan to his dying breath. Lore created by@HappyAccidents |
