Biography
龍 (ryū) meaning "dragon" combined with 二 (ji) meaning "two". Yep, it's literally "Dragon Two". The three-eyed dragon likes being called "Ryu" and the other "Ji", so it works out.

HIKARI CASPIA: ...out of all things, I was not expecting that.
TE: Did the labs know about Aberrations?
AVA STARLING: No. Either all records about them were completely destroyed, or they did not know about their existence. If they had... I suspect that their research would have proceeded much faster.
HC: Reasonable enough. You don't look surprised at the news.
AS: Word travels quickly in the underground.
PE: Three of them agreed to come to the Clan, they're the more agreeable ones apparently. Two heads each, not exactly difficult to miss. According to my associate, they're low maintenance. They just want to become stronger, they're not picky about where they sleep as long as it's not corrosive or damaging. We can just give them a spare den in the Clan and then change accordingly later.
AS: Perfect. Two birds with one stone.
HZ: ...huh?
REGINA BLAZELIGHT: She means that not only do we get to study them in detail, we also get to pass Gorynich off as one. At least, I think that's what she means.
AS: ...and you are not wrong.
PE: [GLEEFULLY] And it doesn't even matter if he doesn't resemble them if one looks too closely, because according to preliminary reports, Aberrations change their appearances with each annual migration to the Wyrmwound. It's just that they all have two heads... wait... oh no.
DAWN BLAZELIGHT JR: Eh?
PE: The report also says they have two tails... and they're usually mid-sized, he's too small...
RB: Can we not claim he was attacked?
PE: ...no, because they can heal themselves and give themselves a new body in the Wyrmwound. Ideas?
TE: Mom... why don't we just say he's an unusual specimen that's still growing?

AS: It would fall apart under close scrutiny, but it's the best we have. It was only a matter of time before we would have been forced to reveal him. Better to do it on our own terms and let dragons accept the idea of him first.

"Hello and welcome to Zenith's Light. I'm Polaris, the one Arelin mentioned," Polaris mustered whatever diplomatic bravado she had and faced the two Aberrations that had arrived first. They were bigger than her.
"Ryuji," the left head on the red one hissed. It seemed that this one wasn't so fluent with modern lingo yet.
The second one paused, as if they recognised her. Come to think of it... the vestiges of what appeared to be feathers looked somewhat familiar. Eventually, the head on the right opened their mouth to speak. "Annemarie."
Oh, yeah, definitely someone sent by Arelin, especially if he had named the heads after two of his students. Polaris stifled a small smile.
"We prepared lodging, if you need anything just ask me. I'll be in the library, I'll show you where it is later. Follow me."

"They mentioned accidentally using one of his prototype Breed Change scrolls on themselves and... two Skydancer twin sisters somehow became one dragon. Must be awkward."
"How do you accidentally use a Breed Change scroll?" Laurel blinked twice, looking rather bemused as she snacked on her Charged Duneberries.
"With little caution, I presume," Regina snarked from the corner. "I spoke to Anne, she prefers eating plants and Marie insects."
Polaris shrugged. "Both are - were? Probably still are - bright students, but when it comes to lab safety, Anne... ah... She's a battlemage, but a clumsy one at that. Marie's talents lie more in the theoretical. I actually can imagine Anne tripping over a Breed Change scroll... though not Arelin leaving them around. Maybe she was helping him make them?"
"How do you know so much about them, anyway?"
"Word travels fast among the Academia members. Archmages are always looking out for talent and are updated about every dragon that shows potential. A second message from Arelin just came in explaining why he asked them to come to me instead. It was a mix of not wanting to experiment on a student of his and his berserk button being clumsy dragons who break equipment. Apparently it was the final straw; Anne has potential but he can't deal with her. Now, how to break the news to them..."

The thesis vetting process takes about two weeks or so (for reference, I'm sending this on 9 TM), and Principal Ahephyx wants me to help with a second one. If you don't hear back from me by 9 MJ, send a letter.

I'm proud of them too, not everyone gets into Starfall Journal. Yeah, I don't know either. Ahephyx dragged me into her lab and asked us to act as her glorified spillage cleanup crew. I still have no idea why it's behaving the way it does... I'm completely fine, though.

DISCLAIMER
All studies were conducted ethically. (Everwinter: A certain green Skydancer would quite literally have killed us otherwise.) Magister Arelin would also like to say that Anne and Marie tripped over a Breed Change scroll and that is why they are now an Aberration, apologies to their parents expecting two Skydancers. They came to Archmage Everwinter willingly. Some of the tests were actually suggested (and insisted upon) by them. Ash signed a contract of his own volition to test out a prototype Breed Change scroll and participate in the ensuing tests.

We studied three members of the recently discovered Plague Ancient (tentatively named Aberration) breed: One born-and-bred Aberration, and two dragons Breed Changed to Aberrations.
