Uh-oh, looks like this mysterious fortune teller wandered a little too far from his home lair (grxndsxn, 437722), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair, to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here, or to the hub if you don't want another dragon in return. Please refrain from exalting him!

Important note: Please only trade this dragon on travelling dragon threads, as opposed to places such as the Auction House.

Baienrok would like to receive a permanent home someday, so if you'd like to adopt him after he's been travelling long enough, just let his owner know! You can also send him back to the exalt rescue on his bio.

Baienrok has enjoyed the art of fortune telling ever since he was younger - it was a way for him to pass time at the orphanage he lived at for much of his early life. Even when he was brought to Crow Callers as a young adult, fortune telling was still his biggest passion. In fact, Vagabond helped him.

At some point down the line, Baienrok gained real magical powers. How he got them is unknown, but he's likely to use them for just about anything.

Willowfern
Upon seeing a poster somewhere for a peaceful, relaxing village, Baienrok decided to give himself a break and take a vacation. The hike there was long, and it seemed to last forever, until he finally came upon the village walls. Small cottages surrounded the largest willow he had ever seen- it could have even been a child of the Behemoth itself! He walked inside the premises.

One cottage that called out to him in particular was an old, dark, brick home with small windows and an overgrown garden. Something about it seemed almost mystical, and he wanted to see if his magic was stronger in there. He knocked on the door.

He waited a few minutes, but there was no reply. Just as he was about to knock once more the door swung open, which nearly caused him to fall in. A frizzled, shiny purple fae had opened the door, and she did not look all that happy to have been disturbed.

“Can I help you...?” Asked the fae, in a most unwelcoming tone.

“Yes, in fact you can! Sorry for bothering you, but I have recently acquired magic, and I wish to be able to harness it in a more predictable and efficient manner. Your home drew me near, as I felt an enchanted aura surrounding it. Now that I see you, I can see that if you decide to assist me, I have come to the right place.” Baienrok was hesitant to reply at first, but gained more confidence as he spoke.

“Normally, I would criticize anyone who based their impressions on looks alone, but seen as you’ve subconsciously been doing so in a most complex and accurate way, I’ll let it slide. I was in the middle of a VERY important task, but I guess you can come in.” The fae stepped aside so as to let the glittering spiral into her home. “But first, who even are you?”

“My name is Baienrok,” said Baienrok. “I won’t stay long, but I do wish to educate myself some before going on my way.”

“Well, Baienrok, as long as you don’t take TOO much of my time, I guess I’ll teach you some of my most sought after knowledge. My name is Merionwen, by the way, but most call me Mary. Or Wen. Or Winnie, but I don’t know you, so don’t call me that.”

“Yes, ma’am,” said the spiral, assuming that she would take well to being treated with utmost respect. He was right, and the two soon began having daily lessons in Merionwen’s study. As Baienrok specified that he wished to master the art of fortune telling, Merionwen lent him a set of her own cards and made sure he could read about all kinds of fortunes. Baienrok was now quite skilled in the love and finance department of fortune telling, but he still struggled to accurately predict the future. Both he and the fae soon became frustrated, and eventually he figured it was time to move on to someone who might know of some different techniques than Merionwen. That isn’t to say that she didn’t help him somewhat in that department, but he knew he would have better results elsewhere. Baienrok wished his small mentor farewell, and ventured off into a new place where he would continue his quest to master the art of fortune telling, as well as maybe some other magic as well.

While in the Clan of Burning Fantasies, Baienrok met another Fortune teller- a Fae named Blaise. Unfortunately, dragons who meet Blaise and have hatchlings with her are meant to forget her, that is until she’s had 100 hatchlings. They got along great, and eventually did have a nest with each other two eggs. The only thing he has left is a amulet from her, since he forgot her, with a picture in it. They will never meet again, but he thinks it’s important so he doesn’t get rid of it.

Baienrok had travelled far and wide for the past few months, his journey led him to a port where people were selling goods, making trades or even looking for a ship to sail them to a certain area. While here he made some purchases of food and drink with what little coin he had. While here at the port he met Nylon, a self proclaimed pirate with a bad attitude.

The two converse for a bit before the Captain of the ship comes up to him.

“Looking for work boy?” She asks in a very pirate like voice. “Uh no I’m just looking for passage-“ he’s cut off by her very loud laugh. “You’ve come to the right place then! M’names Morag and don’t wear it out! Come come, my ship is this way.” He’s led by her very firm grip before he even knows it. Nylon just sighs and falls into place by her side as they walk towards the ship.

His jaw drops to the floor, this is her ship?! It’s huge! He looks to the captain and she has a shark like grin on her face.

“Let me properly introduce you to my baby, boy this is The Lemon That Cuts. She a one of a kind!” The captain coos at her ship. Such strange people.

After he closes his mouth he’s led onto the ship to be introduced to the rest of the crew.

The crew all welcome him aboard and he’s instantly given a job to do. Mop the upper and lower decks. Sure he can do that. It also takes him a second to realize he was basically kidnapped by a bunch of pirates...oh boy this’ll be interesting.
