Quarter

Uh-oh, looks like this dark clown wandered a little too far from his home lair (grxndsxn, 437722), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair, to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here, or to the hub if you don't want another dragon in return. Please refrain from exalting him!

Important note: Please only trade this dragon on travelling dragon threads, as opposed to places such as the Auction House.

Quarter would like to receive a permanent home someday, so if you'd like to adopt him after he's been travelling long enough, just let his owner know!

Quarter, sometimes known by his stage name Quartersmart, is a clown that often finds himself performing in taverns. Despite his job as a clown, it's quite clear that his routines are not for the little ones. His routines tend to focus on edgy black comedy and mature themes, and the "Quartersmart" persona himself is often cited as being quite evil. Quarter himself, on the other hand, is a very friendly dragon; one has to admire how well he can play a character with such a different personality.

He owes his abilities to two dragons known as Karamell and CircusTent, who taught him and his siblings all they need to know about performing as a clown - with that information, they've decided to travel around Sornieth to entertain all kinds of dragons.

Lucky for Quarter, this group happened to be circus friendly. Fate and Fortune were the caravan's resident circus acts. They allowed him to be their opening act during their events at each major stop. Quarter's edgy comedy mixed very well with Fate's harrowing knife-throwing act and Fortune's high flying trapeze act. Quarter even volunteered to be Fate's live spinning target during his duration with the caravan.

Quarter came upon a little colony in the woods. A dragon named Berry actually laughed so loud at his jokes that water came out of his snout. He got a look from Jade, the clan leader. Seemed like a great place to stay, and he stayed for a week! But, he travels with his comedy, and Berry showed him the border.

Clan Mavenlark was said to be home to one of the world's best circuses, and Quarter quickly found that this was no exaggeration. Sitting in on a performance close as he could afford the tickets for, he watched all manners of acrobats, firetamers, and, of course - clowns. It was a little intimidating for the tundra, who up until this point had only had his only performances as a measuring rod of clownhood. Was he truly a clownpants, or just a dark comedian? Many questions swirled in his head...

When Quarter returned to the clan he was born in, he decided to try a few new things, keeping in mind the various things he learned from previous clans. He decided that maybe he'd try working alongside a few other performers - maybe they'd help him perfect his skills.

Luckily, Quarter met AmberLawyer, a fellow Clownpants dragon. AmberLawyer's job was performing as a humorously unfair judge - it was all the more perfect for Quarter's act, and the two put on a show about a dragon sentenced to death for stealing from the market.

Quarter also found himself performing alongside Bucky, a contortionist/puppeteer that put his unnaturally flexible body to good use. Audiences found themselves asking if Bucky was actually harmed in the performance - luckily, he was just fine.

Shockingly enough, Quarter attracted a fan who was only a hatchling - a young Clownpants named Beaux. Quarter was confused; his acts have been known to be too much for some adult dragons. But Beaux admired Quarter nonetheless, and asked for some advice as to how a clown should be.

Quarter tried to give some advice the best he could. Clowns can do a wide variety of things - there's no right or wrong way. Beaux decided to take in that advice, nicknaming himself "Beauxton the Brilliant" and deciding that he will try a wide variety of acts.
