Morag

Morag is considered to have Latin origins as a derivative of the name “Mary”, The Latin meaning of Morag is “moor”. The Gaelic meaning is “great, sun”. Yet another meaning is “star of the sea”.

When Morag was a young adult she took to the seas with her cousin Lemons as they both dreamed to see the vast world and experience new cultures and whatnot. Technically Lemons isn’t the best suited person for the sea life but Morag was quite stubborn about her joining, it was either you come with me or you let me drag your sorry behind with me. Lemons joins her cousin with a smile on her face like always. The two gathered all their coin together and bought a ship to set sail on the seas.

With this ship Morag was declared captain while her cousin Lemons was claimed as first mate. Their crew is small but their spirits are mighty! The first ship they encountered was The Ocean’s Bolt. The captain and his crew were very nice and Morag felt they got along great, the two declared each other allies!

After their encounter with Ocean’s Bolt she felt her own vessel needed a name too! So she pondered about a name for a long time before coming up with ‘The Cutthroats’! Her cousin hated it and came up with alternative name, ‘The Lemon That Cuts’! Morag loved it so much that she commissioned a flag to be made in her cousins honour.

The flag itself was black with a big yellow lemon in the center with a cutlass going through it. She weeped for days after getting it.
