Oberon
Position: Needle felt doll maker Oberon wasn't entirely a hatchling when he was taken, caught by beast clan while he played with several other hatchlings, hatchlings he had told to run. the Beast clan, a group of all the different ones, were far from unkind, they treated him well up until they sold him to a twisted looking dragoness. Oberon had never been so scared as he was lead away from the Trading Post that the Beast clan use and taken farther into the woods, he was shoved into a cage with several other hatchlings and quickly became their 'big brother' in a way, offering comfort. Oberon watched as many of the hatchlings were killed in the name of spells that old Hag was working on. Shh, Little ones don't look![/size] It went on like this for months, Oberon did what he could, but in the end could do so very little, until one night a young dragoness a little younger than him walked in and spoke to him, he explained what he could. he found himself getting close to the dragoness as she continued coming back, I have seen what... The Hag does t the hatchlings, it's awful!, her love of life and hatchlings shone through even as they whispered and her kindness. soon enough she had found the key and was discovered by the Hag, the fight was brutal and as he darted from one cage to another he ushered the hatchlings quickly to the door before pausing Run!, he bolted from the hut and took the hatchlings to a nearby clan. He found himself being questioned by two dragons he didn't recognize, but he told them everything and realized the pretty dragoness was very likely dead. he looked away as the two left with a larger group, he could do little now, having gotten the hatchlings to safety he left his name with the clan healer in case someone asked where he was and went to find a clan. Where should I go? Hmmm somewhere. he found a clan where he set up a small shop, making needle felt dolls for the clan and those who stopped by; he would be a adolescent soon enough and wanted to be able to make his own way if he had to. he found himself with several dragoness trying to win his favor and Oberon would politely and decline any invitation given to him, he wasn't sure if he wanted to stay in the clan yet and wanted a place to call home before courting a dragoness or even thinking of settling down, that and he was still worried for the Witch who helped him escape from the hag. Oberon left that clan and found another to stay in, moving several more times and learning sword use from one clan before finding a clan to stay in for a longer period. he tried summoning the shade, willing to face whatever their price if he helped the dragoness that had helped him, summoning the shade seemed to backfire spectacularly as the last spell the Hag had done in him took effect. his scales turned obsidian and iris runes danced across his body as his once purple eyes turned blood red, his show magic had been effectively drained and replaced with Plague thank to the Shade and the spell that had been forced on him. he would continue to be affected by the Shade even though there was no visible affect on him to those who didn't know him. He would get his answer when several drakes came to speak with him and took him back to a clan with a surprising number of WitchBorn, he was questioned by a large and intimidating imperial and answered to the best of his ability. the dragoness that was brought out to see him was far different from the timid creature he remembered and greeted him warmly; he surprised Dahlia with a much more enthusiastic greeting and in the end the two adolescents back away from each other blushing under the amused gaze of their elders. Dahlia gave him a tour and told him what she had learned in her short time being there and Oberon was amazed by the history of the WitchBorn and their determination to help. So stubbornness doesn't run in your family, it gallops? he teased easily Shut up. came the laughing reply as they walked and finally came to a stop. Oberon was thrilled to have found his friend again and agreed to stay with her, traveling to a new clan would wait until she was ready to leave. while he was there he learned archery and impressed with his own talent for making dolls, giving the ones he made to hatchlings and adults alike without hesitation. after some time he did court her, unsure how such worked in her culture, but willing to fumble through none the less and, after an embarrassing incident when her older brother had him make a fool of himself, she accepted him as her Lifemate. They did leave the clan eventually, she was healed from the fight and had learned all she could from her family, and he was willing to go anywhere. he found them a clan to stay in after awhile of wandering and he was happy to build them a den within the brambles, on the outskirts of the clan where Dahlia could plant a garden for her herbs and help both the clan healer and the clan's herbalist and botanist with the plants she seemed to know that they had never heard of and Oberon set up a shop for himself. he sells his dolls to those who come to the clan and often enough sends a few with the clan's merchant to sell.
