Deer Momma and Daddi,

I am in The Vallle of Desk And Chimes. Asclepees said i was super brav. I onli cryed a litle bit. We flew super high up and veri fast. It was dark so I couldnt see the grownd but i nevr new there weer so mani stars! I saw glows that Asclepees said were lightning and arrcan and fire. Wen we got heer we landad in what Asclepees called “Floorish”. It is a town. I met a spiral ladi named Furi and a tundra ladi named Breez. Breez is nice. She says she is Lustrs sistr. I’m staying with her in her book shop. She tells me lots of storys adout home. I have made lots of freends. Theres Waara and Kaji and Hashi and Enen. I’m the oldist! I miss you and Yuu and Yachid veri much. Furi said I cant visit yet, and that home is too dangeros rit now. But she says you might visit me if you need to, but noing you you probabi cant? Furi doesnt make cents somtims. Anyway I love you veri veri much and Breez lets me keep my blanket with me. I dont need it but if its gone i get sad. Dont reed this next part is just for Yuu and Yachid if they didnt go on adveenturs yet. Deer Yuu and Yachid, I am having a lot of fun but i wish you wer here too. There is bambbo and streams and a biiiiiiig librari and a bridge and lots and lots of chimes. Thers a biiig bambbo and a big lake and a big fish in the lake. Everything is big here! The sky is the biggest. I hop you can see big things too! But I also hop that Momma and Daddi dont get loneli without us… Dont tell Momma and Daddi, but I somtims have nightmars and i get scard beecuz i miss you. Breez tells me thats okay though. She says that just beecuz im scard doesnt meen im not brave. That makes me feel bettre. Anyway I just wanted to let you no you arr still the bestist big brother and sister ever! You can give the letter back to Momma and Daddi now. Deer Momma and Daddi, I am safe. Furi told me to put that. And Asclepees says to put that if you need som mussle, he can be ovr in a jiffy. I think thats a boat. Breez says to put that make sure Lustr is not being dumb and she hops that everyone is safe.

i mis you to so much! Im in Zenith’s Light (it’s worth noting that these words are in neat cursive, not a hatchling’s scrawl) and Breeze is taking car of me. Im traning to bee a wahrior when i gro up. Maybee i will open a storr sellin things. I dunno.

I mis Yuu and Yaara. I wanna see tem but Breeze says its too dangerous (the word has been crossed out multiple times before it is finally spelt correctly, in neat cursive again). I dont undaestind y. Eveyone is so nice here nd i can see de sanrise here!!! Its so biiiig and niiice!

Dear Xinskarr and Xaiya,

I hope Windkeep Tower is well. Yachid is getting along well with everyone in the Clan, and he’s quite the energetic hatchling. He loves exploring, and his magic is quite advanced for his age. Everyone’s quite fond of him, and they treat him well. How are Yaara and Yuu? Yachid’s been asking for news about them, and he won’t rest until I tell him that they are fine.

Dear Mother and Father,

How are you? I know it has been awhile since my last letter… Quite awhile, in fact. I’m pretty sure you are still alive, there is SOME good to being in a clan who has the biggest ear in Sorineth… I heard Yachid made it out of the tower. I think Yuu is still with you. I miss you so much. I… I’m starting to forget some things. I thank Windsinger every day that one of the first lessons they taught me is to write down everything I remember and know. I think the main reason was to see where to start teaching me, but I can look back through my hatchling journals and remember my past again. Remember you. Remember my siblings, my birth clan… I’m safe here. Don’t worry about me. I… still haven’t decided what I want to do with my life yet… I can start training in real Scribe work soon if I want, learn to hear the chimes, or I can help out in the bookshop (as much as I can, Breeze hates actually selling the books), or I can… I don’t know! There are so many options for me, options that… I’m sure you were dreaming for me when you sent me off. I hope you are safe. Head Scribe Furi says that she won’t let me come visit yet, that she swore that she would keep me out of harm's way… But I want to. But, um, don’t worry that I will. I’m pretty sure that they watch me closely to make sure I won’t. I love you. I hope that you triumph, that you get what you are fighting for, that… Someday, I will be able to see the place I’ve read so much about… Furi told me I better not write down anything too revealing, but… I’m sure I can tell you to keep fighting, because there is always hope where you least expect it. That’s pretty vague, I think. Could mean anything.

Dear Mom and Dad,

How is Windkeep Tower? Breeze told me about your situation, and I wish I could help, but we’re being attacked by a bunch of Raptors. Straight from the legends! I have mastered Wind magic, and am now looking to start on Light.

In the meanwhile, I’m also apprenticing under this cranky old Imperial called Honeyleaf to learn more about healing. She's the Nature Representative, but she’s secretly nasty with the healers. It’s okay though, because she’s assigned this really nice Skydancer called Makora to teach me. I think when I finish serving as a warrior, I’ll open a café like Yuu with Makora. The peaceful life sounds really appealing to me.

I really am looking forward to see you two with Yuu (what a pun)! Maybe when you come I can show you all my friends in the Clan. They’ve been really nice to me. Even my mentor Viridespine, even though he’s strict.
