Biography
Eser
Eser is the clan’s jester, and can usually be found within corridors putting on a humorous performance. He juggles, he tells jokes, he turns tricks, and he performs minor illusions. He has fantastic sleight of hand, and a few of his “magic” tricks have left experienced mages like Premina and Pitch baffled and demanding to know how he did it. If you’re looking for him, you can usually just listen, and then follow the sound of howling laughter. He loves to bring smiles to the faces of other dragons, and he loves to hear their laughter even more.
Eser is well-assisted by his mate, Tiste, who is always at his side and ready and willing to throw another pin into his flurrying juggling act, or to slide a trampoline under his feet, or to distract his audience just long enough for him to swap out two cards. Eser knows Tiste isn’t funny, but he always tries to smile at her jokes anyway, and in their spare time, when Eser is off-stage, he’s more than willing to coach Tiste in the art of comedy. The two love each other very dearly.
In contrast to Eser’s strong love for his mate, Eser and Duskfall have kept a strong rivalry going since Mab and her circus first brought Duskfall to Electrician’s Edge. Duskfall’s comedic performances have a layer of spectacle to them in hopes of leaving a lasting impact on her audience, while Eser appreciates the art of a well-needed, short-term laugh. One might imagine that since Duskfall can only communicate in sound effects, she and Eser wouldn’t be able to argue very much — but one would be surprised, because their arguments get ferocious and intense very quickly.
All in all, Eser lives for the art of performance and comedy, and no sound is sweeter to him than his clanmates’ laughter ringing in his ears. Although other dragons might be socially funnier than Eser, his clanmates would be hard-pressed to name a dragon more dedicated to laughter and smiles than Eser, and he wears the title of Comedy King proudly.
