Biography

Pitch
Pitch is a magically-inclined dragon who specializes in enchantments. Specifically, they spend much of their time enchanting objects to come to life. Many of the mimics found around Electrician’s Edge during Night of the Nocturne, when their power is at its strongest, are their creations, and will slink back to their den at the end of this period of unusual freedom.

Pitch doesn’t have malicious intentions. They’re just particularly lonely, and their creations were initially made to help ease this loneliness. They’re exceptionally kind to their enchanted creations, and cherishes each and every one. Even after joining the Clan of the Striking Bolt and making other friends among actual dragons, they remember to treat every enchanted creature well and care for them just as much as they would any dragon.

Besides bringing ordinary objects to life, their enchantment magic is also used for the amusement of hatchlings. Hatchlings squeal with delight when Pitch makes their toys dance and their drawings move, and paints beautiful, sparkling squiggles along the walls. Pitch loves hatchlings, and they delight just as much in entertaining them as the hatchlings delight in being entertained.

Pitch has an unreciprocated crush on the witch Premina. However, despite the lack of mutual feelings, the two remain great friends. It isn’t uncommon to see a cauldron, alive and sprouting spider legs, slinking through the lair, carrying messages and ingredients from the witch to the enchanter and vice versa.

Pitch does have one great flaw that makes them unpopular among some dragons: they’re a total kleptomaniac. They can’t help it; they just see objects and can’t stop thinking about how it would be if it were a living creature. But once the enchantments wear off at the end of the day, the objects have usually found their way back to their owner anyway. It seems bringing an object to life doesn’t remove the sentiment attached to it, and the enchanted objects will slink their way back to their original homes.
