Biography

Vachel's avatar
Vachel
He / Him · Adult · Foundling

Vachel is a field medic, constantly racing about the territory whenever a dragon in need calls for him, bearing fast-acting medicine. He’s the dragon who appears by your side when you’re hurt in the middle of combat and can’t afford to retreat just yet. He’s the dragon Cedar calls when he falls out of a tree and lands wrong. He’s the dragon Wiuin calls when his boat crashes on the rocks. He’s the dragon Spindle calls when she twists her ankle on a dig. Vachel is ever-reliable, and will always be there for dragons who call for him.

Vachel makes his own medicine and wraps, by hand. He weaves the gauze himself, infusing it with his special medicines. He brews the medicine himself, giving it a little kick with his Lightning magic. He tests the medicine himself, giving himself minor scrapes and bumps to pour his medicine on and ensure its speed and efficiency. Vachel knows his consumer base well; he knows his clients want fast, quality medicines, and he’s ready to be the one who provides that for them.

When Vachel isn’t racing around to provide medicine halfway across the Tempest Spire or testing his own medicines, he’s usually curled up with his mate, Selveen. The two of them adore each other, and share similar goals of advancing technology within the clan. Their interests align, and the two are always willing to root for and stand up for each other whenever the occasion calls for it.

The two are also both major Cadfael supporters, and of the dragons outside of Cadfael’s direct inner circle, they’re usually advocating the loudest for him. Vachel doesn’t have the same level of sentimental attachment to Screechfang and Skytail as Selveen does, but Cadfael has still intentionally left him out of the loop on the full extent of his plans. However, if it came down to it, Cadfael would rather pick Vachel to be by his side. He would refute any ties to the current leadership’s bloodline, and Cadfael thoroughly (yet wrongly) believes that Vachel would willingly drop his family if it meant bringing in a new world.
