Dragon Log

A handful since birth, one of her first actions as a young hatchling was to nip at her mother's wing. Despite her mischievous nature, however, this Pearlcatcher has a good heart, and will always lend a spell or two to any dragon in the lair... whether or not they have actually asked for it. As she never settled on one particular element to master, and instead dabbles in Fire, Air, and Earth indiscriminately, this can make her a godsend to the clan... or their worse nightmare. It all depends on whether or not she thinks some dragons need some cheering up....

She is a good friend of Spellweaver and Runemaster, and often babysat for their young ones when they were growing up. Hmmm... perhaps that explains a few things?

9-22-14: Her Iridescent Scaleback has Awakened! This is a happy day for the well-matched pair, and she cannot wait to see what new trouble Rascal will get himself into....

9-25-14: While Rascal wanders the lair, amusing himself by watching dragons scramble out of his way, our young prankster has found a Shadow Serpent to occupy her time. She absolutely loves the fact he moves so stealthily in the dark. Oh the possibilities!

10-18-14: A new experience has visited her: motherhood! Her parents and siblings are absolutely shocked, as they had no idea that she was looking for a mate, much less that she would end up with a spiral like Flamecaster...hopefully, her single egg will hatch, and give her a little one to dote on....

10-23-14: After 6 fretful days, her egg has hatched successfully... and she now has a handsome young Pearlcatcher son to show off! His colors suggest he will have an affinity to fire, but only time will tell....

10-28-14: To celebrate her hatchling’s birth, “Mischief” enticed her sister Illusion to play a betting game, with the loser needing to kiss the “Most Plague-Like” dragon at the Riot of Rot Kissing Booth. It is however, rather hard to figure out which one of them actually won, and which one lost, perhaps because there seems to be a difference of opinion on the definition of “Most Plague-Like.” “Mischief” unfortunately appears to think it means “most diseased,” but her “losing” sister Illusion had a different idea… ( )

Oh dear….it looks like this particular prank was turned back on its creator indeed, as “Mischeif” was just tricked into kissing a disease-riddled Snapper rather than the strong, healthy warrior that Illusion chose. Perhaps this will teach the mischievous Pearlcatcher not to bet with an Air Mage….

12-22-14: Her Shadow Serpent has Awakened! Rather fitting, for it to happen the day after the shortest day of the year... perhaps she should name him Nocturne?

1-8-15: The Serpent liked the name Nocturne, and has slithered away to contemplate more mischief. While he is planning--and scaring young dragons by appearing suddenly out of the darkness--the mischievous Pearlcatcher has found a familiar companion after her own heart: A water creature as mischievous as she is! She is happily bonding to the Grey River Flight... and the rest of the Clan is waiting with bated breath to see what mischief they will get up to first....

2-22-15: "Mischief" has struck again! When Norberta received a nice, harmless prank of owls with messages from Teeka's Clan during the Trickmurk Circus, she intended to send a joking reply back. Unfortunately, it looks like Norberta did not get her reply in fast enough... ( , )

Oh dear...hopefully the Clan can survive what is definitely shaping up to be a Prank War...

2-23-15: And now Hellebore’s prank, 6 microdeer with bells, has arrived… ( , )

Uh-oh. It seems that Norberta is working on things of her own...and just what is Flamecaster up to? Ths is beginning to get out of hand....though “Mischief” herself is no longer involved…

4-9-15: The Grey River Flight has Awakened! Look out Clan, his schemes are about to get a quite a bit more complex....

8-8-15: While exploring in the hoard, the Pearlcatcher found a beautiful focus necklace. Now, with the Chroma Necklace, her elemental affinities should get even stronger....

1-28-16: Late last night Meteor stopped by the Clan enclave at the Crsyatlline Gala with a new "Pokemon" friend in tow... and "Mischief" promptly fell in love. Enamored of the "cute adorable" funny little creature, the mischievous Peacatcher has enticed Loudred away from his original captor and made him her own....

7-5-16: Older familiars sometimes get tired and cranky (or perhaps in this case more cranky), or just bored. Whatever the reason, both Rascal and his "brother" Grumpy have decided to move into the Vault for a while. "Mischief" is already missing her companion, but at least she has Flit and Nocturne to play pranks with. Hmmm... They haven't gone hissing from the shadows for a while. Perhaps there are some young dragons she could scare? Or maybe she could see what Flamecaster is up to....

3-26-17: While exploring the Mistral Jamboree, this rambunctious Pearlcatcher encountered a guessing game booth with an intriguing jar full of Jelly Beans... ( )

4-1-17: She did not win the guessing game. (Did not, in fact, even come close.) But with so much else on offer at the Festival, "Mischief" hardly even noticed. When she returned to the Clan at the end of the Festival, the bouncy Pearlcatcher was well-satisfied with her experience, and eagerly looking forward to next year....

9-30-18: The shifts in magical energies around Sornieth have had a number of unusual effects lately. Some dragons are developing literal representations of their magical prowess, while others are developing odd familiar bonds, or even changing their whole outlook on names. "Mischief" is no exception to this, and has been experiencing some odd magical urges lately. As a result, she has just undergone two very profound changes:

First, the Arcane familiar for this year, a Spellwrought Ambassador, completely ignored Nightsedge, who should have had first try at a bond, and bonded with her instead. Much to Duskshadow's relief, Night is not too displeased by this, as he apparently was not looking forward to bonding with a harpy, so peace continues to reign in the lair--at least as far as this particular familiar is concerned.

Second, this Pearlcatcher, who has used the name "Mischief" for so long that most of the Clan had forgotten it was not, in fact, her official name, has just announced a rather....interesting name choice, supposedly linked to her love of Fire, Air, and Earth magic. The Clan's youngest mischief-maker has named herself Vesuvia! Apparently, it is the name of a mythical volcano that once destroyed a whole Clan overnight. For some reason, this seems to resonate with this young Pearlcatcher, causing many in the Clan to feel a bit nervous....

…especially since, only a few hours after announcing her chosen name, Vesuvia suddenly acquired a Conflagrant Halo....

1-5-19: The Spellwrought Ambassador has Awakened! Vesuvia is delighted for her friend, and already planning all sorts of mischief that they can do together...

2-9-19: Vesuvia's magical energy seems to once again be in flux. While she was channeling some Earth Magic, for an as of yet unknown purpose, the mischievous Pealcatcher's aura began to pulse with a bright light. Moments later, the pulse settled down into an addition to Vesuvia's usual look: Now she is sporting a combination Fire and Earth Halo, with the Crystalcourt Halo adding a new dimension to the fiery Conflagrant Halo already present, leaving the Clan to wonder how long it will be before a representation of her Air Magic joins the mix...

6-7-19: And the long wait is over: Lately a tide of magical energy has been sweeping the Clan, causing quite a few magic auras to appear in the visible spectrum, on both dragons who were expecting it, and those who were not. In Vesuvia's case, the sudden appearance of an Aerborne Halo, an obvious representation of her affinity to the more physical aspects of Air Magic, through Wind, is no surprise at all....

6-14-19: It has only been a few days from her final Halo "acquisition," and already Vesuvia has moved on to something else. Though no one in the Clan is really surprised that, when she decided to try to attract a new familiar, the Clan's mischief-maker chose one that lives near the Volcanic Vents of the Coli. After all, if an Ashscale Ophiotaurus was going to be tempted by a dragon, what better fit could he find than one named for a volcano? The only question is what Vesuvia intends to do with this particular snake being when he matures...

8-29-19: While enjoying herself at the Flameforger’s Festival this year, Vesuvia came upon a very unique Forge, and found some interesting new Fire and Nature Magic to play with…. ( ) … And she brought home some very odd seeds for her Trophy Shelf! Let’s hope that these new “fire flowers” don’t give her too many new prank ideas…And what on Sornieth is she going to do with that odd piece of armor? (
) The Clan is really, really hoping that she isn’t planning anything too creative…

9-11-19: The Ashscale Ophiotaurus has Awakened! Vesuvia is thrilled that her strongest fire companion is fully mature at last. The Clan, on the other hand, is watching with a great deal of trepidation, especially since she decided to celebrate by introducing him to her new "Fire Seeds"....

4-10-20: Recently, a number of the Clan's "Vault Familiars" have re-emerged from the Hoard to re-connect with their dragons. Vesuvia was not really surprised, therefore, when "Rascal" turned up today. Especially since "Grumpy" has already returned to Vesuvia's brother. The Iridescent Scaleback is just as nasty-tempered as she remembers, but it is surprisingly good to see him all the same. Perhaps he can help her with some pranks she has in mind...
