Biography

Backstory: Callora was a child of Kenai, an elite warrior sworn to service of the Lightweaver. Although, Kenai, despite all of her loyalty to the deity of light and drive to good, got distracted by a wildclaw dragon one summer night. Katoplasm was a player to say the least, but Kenai didn’t care because she wanted him and the freedom he provided. When Kenai layed three eggs, Katoplasm left the coatl dragon without saying goodbye. In that moment, Kenai had realized the consequences of her actions. The coatl dragon returned to the Lightweaver and begged her for forgiveness. The Lightweaver gladly welcomed Kenai back into her services. However, Kenai proved to be a very strict and serious mother. She trained her children to be righteous warriors with loyalties forever tied to the Lightweaver. However, Callora could never quite fit into her mother’s mold. Sure Callora loved to battle, but she had a tendency to play dirty and use whatever tricks she had up her sleeve to defeat her opponents. Plus, Callora had developed a secret fascination with the dark arts and crafts after finding a book written by Galahad and Alara (which had been smuggled from the Tangled Wood by one of Neo’s half brothers). Once Kenai had discovered her daughter was interested in sorcery, Kenai beat Callora and told her daughter that she was going be exalted to the Lightweaver tomorrow as punishment. Because of this, Callora ran away from her home in the Beacon of the Radiant Eye. Callora fled into the Tangled Woods, hoping she could meet the Shadowbinder and work for him. However once in the Tangled Woods, Callora was caught by some serthis and taken to a secret underground plantation. Fortunately, the Aquafire Clan had caught word of this secret underground plantation and lauched an attack in order to free the enslaved dragons. Since Callora had no home to return to the Aquafire Clan chose to take Callora in. At first, Callora thought the members of the Aquafire would force her to become what they wanted. However, the clan allowed Callora to practice sorcery. Neo taught Callora some basic spell maneuvers his parents had taught him. Originally, Callora had planned to leave the Aquafire Clan once she was old enough to take care of herself and work for the Shadowbinder. Although, Callora chose to stay in the Tsunami Flats because she had found her real family and couldn’t bare to leave them.

Personality: Callora is a big gambler and can be overconfident at times. Callora is the kind of dragon who tends to do things she is specifically told not to do. She is by nature rebellious and the reason Neo’s scales are turning grey. Callora is a proud witch and enjoys scaring/creeping out hatchlings and full grown dragons. Callora spends the majority of her time alone so she can practice her sorcery, but the coatl dragon still loves to spend to with members of her clan (especially Altitude and Atmosphere).

Clan Position: Witch/Warrior

Soul Mate: Altitude

Familiar: When Neo spotted a swamphaunt kelpie was spotted on the shoreline of the Tsunami Flats, the nocturne dragon ran back to the Aquafire Clan’s den, rambling about creature that could drown Azul. Once Neo regained his composure, he announced that a meeting had to be held right away and warned the clan’s hatchlings from going near the shore. Now, Callora was a hatchling at the time this event occurred. Being the troublesome coatl dragon she was, Callora snuck off while the grownup dragons were chatting and headed for the shoreline. It was there where Callora found an injured kelpie on the verge of death. Callora chose to hide the kelpie from her other clan members. The coatl dragon named the kelpie Mersulis. Callora tried to nurse the kelpie back to help, but she was no healer. Eventually, she had to beg Neo to heal Mersulis. After a lot of coaxing from Callora, Neo reluctantly healed the kelpie. Since then, Mersulis has been Callora’s little helper. Mersulis often collects items necessary for Callora’s spells. Mersulis’ presence often scares other members of the clan. Despite the perception of other dragons, Mersulis is really a shy and sweet creature at heart. Mersulis is mated to Neptune, the hippocampus.
