Altitude

Backstory: Altitude’s mother, Piper grew bored of her children very easily. She exalted many of her hatchlings without bothering to say goodbye. Altitude’s father, Prism was never around either. Although, none of that really mattered to Altitude. He was well aware his mother could care less about him. The only dragon Altitude cared about was his twin sister, Atmosphere. Growing up, the two hatchlings were inseparable. The twins had the rare ability to communicate to one another telepathically. However, Piper’s addiction to gambling and laziness caught up with her. Piper fell into debt and her own clan refused to help her. So Piper decided to auction off her two youngest children, Altitude and Atmosphere. In the auction house, Altitude tried to stay with his sister, but they were quickly separated. Altitude fought against the auctioneers with every breath he had. The auctioneers had to use one of their sleep darts on the young coatl dragon. While Altitude was asleep two serthis bought him. When Altitude woke up, found himself in a in a underground plantation beneath Tangled Woods. The plantation was run by vicious serthis, who enjoyed dragon flesh in front of their slaves. Altitude worked on the plantation day in and day out, he forgot what it was like to fly, to feel the warm sun on his feathers, and the sound of his sister’s laugh. Eventually, Altitude didn’t want to live anyone. He had lost his sister so the hatchling didn’t see the point of live anymore. He stole some of the serthis’s deadly vial of poison. Altitude was going to drink the poison, but stopped when heard crying coming from the cell next to his. There was another coatl dragon in the cell next to his. The coatl dragon hadn’t been there this morning so Altitude knew she must be new. Altitude tried his best to comfort and assure the other coatl dragon. The other coatl dragon said her name was Callora and that she was a long way from home. As Callora finally fell asleep, Altitude decided if he was going to die then he would die trying to free the dragons trapped in this terrible place. Altitude got his chance to free the other dragons when he met a young chivalrous raptorik who had be enslaved by the serthis. Altitude helped the raptorik get out of the plantation by creating a grand-scale distraction. Before the raptorik had escaped, Altitude had asked the creature to find help. Keeping to his promise, the raptorik journeyed far and wide searching for clans who would be willing to help the dragons trapped beneath the Tangled Wood. The Aquafire answered the raptorik‘s plea. The Aquafire Clan launched an attack on the plantation beneath the tangled wood. Fortunately, the Aquafire Clan freed all of the creatures once enslaved by the serthis. The clan also chose to take Altitude and Callora in since both of the coatl dragons didn’t have a real home to go back to.

Personality: Altitude is a very serious and chivalrous dragon. He upholds all of the Aquafire Clan’s rules. This coatl dragon is fiercely protective over his clan members, especially Atmosphere and Callora. Altitude can speak fluent draconic, but his voice does carry the heavy accent of his native tongue. Altitude, also, has a secret love of poetry.

Familiar: Raptor the raptorik has been loyal to Altitude since the day the coatl dragon helped him escape the serthis plantation. Raptor is very honorable and chivalrous like Altitude. The two love to spend time in each other’s company. Since Raptor was sold by his parents at an early age, he really understands Altitude’s pain. Raptor is mated to Irina.
