Biography

Screechfang

Screechfang founded the Clan of the Striking Bolt. As an egg, he was accidentally kicked quite far away from the nest. His egg was found by harpies, and hatched in their care. They had no clue how to raise a baby dragon, but did their best. They taught him to fly and screech and fight and hunt for meat, and taught him that harpies and Guardians were not all that different, allowing him to grow alongside them with a heavy acceptance of harpies. (Fun fact — the harpy name they gave him translates loosely to “Loudmouth”! You can guess why he modified it to “Screechfang” upon his reintroduction to Draconic society.)

When he grew too big for them to continue raising, they knew it was time for him to go. They set him free, telling him to go out with good morals and take care of himself. He looked back longingly, and left the only family he had ever known.

On his quest for a new place to live, he found two companions—a very annoying sparkling goblin who called himself Joules, and a Tundra named Skytail. Skytail was apprehensive towards Screechfang at first; she feared his loud, screeching, booming voice, his massive size, and his shocking touch. But he grew on her very quickly, quickly showing affection for the kind, gentle tundra, and eventually, she grew to like him, too.

Eventually, the three of them found a crevice in the side of a cliff, and decided this was a good place to stay. Screechfang and Skytail declared themselves to be mates, and they were fine on their lonesome (save for the company of Joules) for some time.

Slowly, more dragons came upon their oasis and joined them. They accepted and praised Screechfang as their leader, and Skytail as his consort. Finally, they had a real and honest-to-goodness clan. The Clan of the Striking Bolt was born.

It has been many years since then, and Screechfang has remained a benevolent and powerful ruler. Although his extremely loud, booming, screeching voice hasn’t changed a decibel, that voice has gained a sense of authority and might that the clan respects and listens to. Most of his children have left him and traveled far across the land, joining other clans and serving other gods, and Screechfang could not be prouder of the reach of his family tree. He has brought in an era of allyship with the local harpy tribes, and reached out similar offers of alliance to other dragon clans. Electrician’s Edge has never known better days than those spent under Screechfang’s rule.

Screechfang is, admittedly, not very intelligent. He doesn't pick up on a number of obvious things, and has a number of advisors by his side to help him figure things out. He is stubborn and bossy, serious and disorganized, scatterbrained and oblivious, devout and protective, prideful and brave. His clan is his Charge, and he would do anything for it, especially his family members. And since he considers the entire clan his family, this means he would lay down his life for the clan in a heartbeat.

Joules

There isn’t nearly as much to be said about Joules. Screechfang encountered him early into his initial journey, and the two have been inseparable every since. Joules can usually be found sitting on Screechfang’s shoulder or curled up by Screechfang’s claws, cackling and joking around. However, when the opportunity calls for it, Joules can be extremely wise and helpful, and Screechfang considers him as close of an advisor as any of his other friends.
