Bonfire, or “Bonnie” for short, is a specialty healer who focuses on burns. She spends her days working on ointments, creams, tonics, and poultices that specifically treat burns, and she has a supply for every type of burn — from a mild sunburn, to a bubbling blistered burn, to — her top client in the Shifting Expanse! — electrical burns, and beyond as well. Given time, she can create a treatment plan to specifically heal any one specific dragon’s burns. In short, she is the very best at what she does.

But Bonfire has not grown prideful as a result of her high status in medicine. In fact, she is the very opposite: very humble and meek. She applies her ointments with her head held low, and she always remembers to thank her patients for thinking to visit her first. Many dragons in the area know they are in safe hands, because if they are ever burned, Bonfire will be there to gently rub a poultice onto their wound.

Bonfire’s top patient over the years has been Ingot, the blacksmith, who frequently catches his tail or shoulder on a warm anvil, or is scraped by a spark from an iron bar shaped but not yet fully cooled. Bonfire has been there for him, every single time, to give him a soft smile, tease him for doing it to himself again, and heal his wounds. Bonfire is one of the only dragons who has managed to slip through Ingot’s gruff exterior, and get him to lower his barriers. Around Bonfire, Ingot is kinder and softer, and around Ingot, Bonfire is bolder and more confident. Through Ingot’s frequent visits to Bonfire’s burn station, the two have fallen in love, and make excellent mates that bring out the best in each other.
