Terrence

As you continue on, you come across this great Ridgeback, leading a group of younger dergs in battling tactics. Upon seeing you, he tells them to take a break and goes to introduce himself...

Give an electric greeting to Terrence, a Ridgeback I purchased as a mate for Artianna, the clan's first Ridgeback, one of the clan's top fighters & trainers, and also the clan's Lightning representative!

His name used to be Terracotta, but that was what the previous owner had named him, and I could tell it was only because of his tertiary gene. I kept his name that for a while, but decided to change it as he had a new life here, so he should also have new name that wasn't based off of appearance, so Terrence it was :D

Terrence is a gruff, blunt Dragon that gets straight to the point of things, and doesn't like to beat around the bush. He can sometimes be too blunt & gruff and be seen as insensitive by others who don't like his straight-to-the-point nature. Aside from his gruffness, he is also understanding, and he makes a great teacher & trainer of battle tactics for those that are willing to listen. He also takes his task as Ambassador of the Lightning Flight, from which he hails, very seriously but also is proud to fill the job, and loves to show the clan what his Flight means to him. Terrence loves spending time with his family, and also enjoys sunsets. He loves to hoard anything electric related, and can be found teaching others about electricity in his spare time, and has hosted a science class or two at Erigore's school :)

When Terrence arrived, he was already grown, and one of the first dragons to join the clan waaaaay back in the early days when Cascade, GoldSong & Valen were starting their clan in the realm of Wind. He had grown up inside his own clan & remained there for a year before he felt as though he never found anything he was good at there. Thus he went to the Auction House to see where he'd end up & who'd be willing to procure some currency to bring him to his next clan. And just that very thing happened when the Fae & Gaurdian approached him. Fortunately, the white & terracotta dragon caught their eye, and they brought forth the treasure that he was listed for and after that day Terrence became the first Ridgeback to join the newly forming clan. He helped to form the clan into what it is now, and along the way, he has formed many close friendships, and made many close bonds, especially with the first few dragons who were here in the early days just like him. He & Valen hit it off nearly right after he joined and became as close as they could, sharing a tight brother-like bond, and formed the first coliseum team of the clan, with the third spot being filled by Valen's wife, GoldSong. With this team, Terrence also formed a tight bond with GoldSong, and now he watches out for her like a protective older brother and good friend.
Of the dragons that he shares a deep bond with include his wife, one of the first Imperials of the clan, Artianna.. Upon arrival, he saw a few others that had also come from the Auction House that were a Skydancer and two Imperials. The Skydancer seemed kind enough but Terrence found that if he wasn't careful he could end up rubbing the guy the wrong way and wounding their friendship, so learned just to keep his distance. The two Imperials were sisters who were greatful to have been bought together, and Terrence could tell the sweeter of the two had taken a liking to Gabrian, the Skydancer, and vice versa. She was nice to him as well and could tolerate his rough edges a bit better than her mate, Gabrian, but he figured he'd just leave them alone for he could see a budding relationship between them and was drawn to her sister, the more risky & outgoing of the two, anyways.
Like a magnet, Terrence followed Artianna around, not caring about the danger he was in because of the reckless adventures she liked to do, and after a time this finally got to both of them. He only wanted to know more about her but eventually realized how perilous some of the things were and she realized how what she was doing was putting others at risk because of their pursuing of her. This grounded her more and she finally opened up the Ridgeback who seemed to shadow her and found someone she could trust. With that, they grew closer, and from there, a love formed that only made their relationship grow deeper.... Until it finally lead to wedding bells and them carving out & building their own home within the lair where they could have a home for themselves.
Shortly after settling in, they welcomed in their first hatchlings who were their 3 lovely daughters, listed above. Terrence found he loved fatherhood and eventually found his soft side as he let them dress him up, but he also didn't raise pansies as some now work in some of the toughest jobs of the clan..

But Artianna never forgot about the first dragon who also caught her eye when she first arrived and who she had first wanted before this Ridgeback changed her life, and that was the Skydancer, Gabrian. She grew jealous of her sister for stealing him away from her, and though she was happy with Terrence, it wasn't what she wanted, so she devised a plan.. a plan to at least get something of what she dreamed.. (see Artianna & Gabrian)
After that had happened, Terrence was upset with Artianna at first but learned to forgive her and after she explained, was understanding and could see where she was coming from, and was willing to give her another chance & trust her again. Over time, the Imperial proved herself after she apologized, as she never went back on her word & kept to that. They became happy again & Terrence welcomed in her & Gabrian's children as if they were his own, even though it created an interesting family dynamic.. He kind of has some disdain and jealousy for Gabe, though, after what happened with the Skydancer & his wife, and while Terrence tries to look past it, there's a part of him that still won't forget...
As everyone is well aware of the mishap that happened between Gabrian & Artianna, Terrence & her decided to re-breed again & put to rest any rumors and welcome into the world some more hatchlings. In this second clutch, they welcomed in WhiteBlood, his first son, and two more wonderful Ridgeback daughters, Lavrenti & Yaziel. He & Artianna loved raising three more children, but two of them seemed to not fit in here. Growing up in the SkyWings clan, the two daughters wanted to find their places elsewhere & not stay here so they ventured out in to the great land of Sornieth to find their place in other clans, which both have been successful at :) He misses his daughters, but is happy to receive letters from them about their journeys, experiences & adventures in their new homes :)
Him and his family enjoy the Velvet Floracat, and all have endless hours of entertainment whenever the red dot is brought out. Echoes of laughter can be heard from their section of the lair when the red dot is afoot. However, as he is so serious about being the Lightning Flight's ambassador to the SkyWing's clan, he's decided to hand Velet, the family's cat, off to someone else to watch over & enjoy whilst he works on his bond with Jolt, the Voltiac Ambassador.


His Roles in the SkyWings clan are being the Lightning Flight's representative, and also being a trainer, like Valen, for younger Dragons who form teams and want to fight in the coliseum. Since he, Valen and GoldSong are part of the highest leveled and strongest team in the clan, he teaches them in the ways of fighting, but also keeps an open mind when one of his students comes up with a new technique and lets them do that :D unless he sees that it is too reckless and could bring harm to themselves or the rest of the team, then he frowns upon them using their technique and tells them to stick to the basics.
