As you stand there in front of Valen, GoldSong flutters over, and you can tell she also looks aged and been through many battles. "Ah, welcome!" she says in a lovely, soothing voice and introduces you to all of her family and all the other Dragons in the clan. :)

Behold, GoldSong, Cascade's/my first Dragon, the clan's Matriarch and Wind Representative, and my first Fae! Began my journey with her Welcome Week in November 2017 :D (back when Welcome Week was a thing, who remembers that? XD)
GoldSong is a sweet Fae that loves to welcome all the new Dragons to the SkyWings clan, whether new babies, or older Dragons, she welcomes all with wide, loving arms. She is very kind and loving and tries her best to make this place feel like home to all the dragons who reside here, whether they come in from outside or blood-related. She is glad to see all who come here to start their lives & welcomes in each family as they come. However, she also has rules for this clan and makes sure that everybody knows them and keeps everyone in line with a firm, strict hand. Otherwise, she is the kindest, sweetest Fae around, and is all inclusive to all dragons, big or small, young or old :) She loves getting to know everybody and her favorite saying is "Leave your titles at the door," meaning that even if she is the Matriarch, she doesn't want anyone to give her any special treatment or act any differently around her, as she doesn't want to feel like she's above everyone else. She enjoys seeing all the different kinds of Dragons that have joined the SkyWings clan and welcomes them into the ever growing lair. She is like everyone's favorite grandmother, and loves to be around others.
As you might have noticed, GoldSong doesn't quite behave like other Faes. She actually uses her voice like most others do with inflections & tone, something she notices others of her kind lack. This is because she isn't truly a Fae, yet crossed over from another realm through a portal she discovered, and brought with her relics of the previous universe with her in the form of her mannerisms. Though confusing to some, she finds there isn't much differences between the mannerisms from her realm and the ways of the dragons here and was able to fit in quite nicely after a time. It takes some to get used to a Fae who isn't monotone, but once they learn why, they realize GoldSong is just fine to get along with. Some of the old ways she carried over from her previous realm also take the form of the language of the universe she grew up in, which is called Cascadian. She still implements this in the clan today, and teaches every newcomer her old tongue, just like how she had to learn to speak Draconic, the universally-understood language of Sornieth, upon her arrival.
As mentioned above, GoldSong actually came from another realm that was its own universe teeming with life and peoples of many kinds. It was ruled by a pony named Cascade Mirage & her husband, Sulphur Spark, who were foretold about in a prophecy who would also come from another realm who would eventually come to lead & rule this aforementioned universe from the lost world of Rivulia. This realm would later be come to be known as the Cascadian Universe, in honor of its monarch, and is from where this Fae before you hails. She had started life out as a (Cascadian Universe species) , but then one day discovered something that didn't look quite right in her land. Upon closer inspection, she found that it was a portal, and one that lead directly to a place called Sornieth in the domain of a great dragon she'd come to learn who was called WindSinger. Being the curious (species) that she was, she went through the opening, discovering she'd been transformed into a being of gold with frilly wings, elaborate headfins & light-green eyes. Unfortunately, she discovered the portal was also one-way, for when she tried to return, it was as if she was hitting a wall & couldn't pass through. Sound could pass through, however, so when someone came by & discovered the opening as she did, she told them what happened & to send help. The one on the other side acknowledged and went on their way to try to find some way to save her.. But as time passed and she heard no more from her previous realm, she realized she couldn't stay there and began to venture out into the realm she now found herself in. As she ventured, she was alone at first, but soon found the land to be roaming full of dragons who told them about the way this current realm worked. As she went as well, she found she couldn't live by her old ways or her old name and thus decided to remake herself as she had been outwardly transformed, and came up with her new name that everyone now addresses her by. Aside from a few mannerisims, the only thing she couldn't give up was the language of Cascadian, but everything else from her old Universe she shirked as she accepted life in this new land.
By the other dragons' ramblings, she learned those around her also had the same eyes and that this meant they were Wind-aligned, corresponding to & serving the great dragon who ruled over this land. She was thankful for their information, yet continued to roam the land, searching for what she could do here while staying with one clan or another for a time. As GoldSong the Fae went, she saw how others had decided to settle & create a home for themselves that eventually grew into bustling clans, and she wondered if she could do that herself.. She had never had aspiring dreams to be a leader before, back in the Cascadian Universe, but out on her own & with that possibility now before her, she jumped at the opportunity that presented itself..
With this in mind, she petitioned to WindSinger himself who gave her a plot of land where she could start. She didn't forget the portal though, and upon request & fortunately for her, this piece of land was set near the portal she had previously crossed through. At that she set to work fortifying it, should anyone seek to steal it or harm anyone else that would come through.
As the Fae began to work on making her budding dreams come true, a large, hulking dragon wandered her way, seeming in search of something. She caught sight of him, and wondered about the peach-y colored fellow when she saw he stopped to watch the Fae. Then, a few moments later, he began to help her, and she found him very useful for his service in working to clear the land. It was at this time that she met Valen, a wonderful Guardian who decided to help her fulfill her idea of starting a clan. He was searching for his Charge, and when the winds of fate lead him to this beautiful Fae, he knew he had found it and decided to stay. They continued to build the building for where the future dragons of the clan would reside, which still stands to this day, and as they worked, a relationship began to form between them as well. Though the Gaurdian found it odd the things she would talk about before her time in Sornieth, he finally believed her when she showed him the portal, and awhile later when something else passed through from the Cascadian Universe, too (see MoonMist) . Later on after they had met, as their relationship formed, they fell in love & wedded, becoming the first married couple of the clan. Shortly thereafter, the first family in the clan was formed as they welcomed into the world their 3 lovely children.

Though not accustomed to being a parent in this land, she raised them well, and was happy that Valen was there to help every step of the way as they navigated the joys and trials of parenthood together. As they grew, their children's personalities began to shine, and their daughter, Echo, showed great interest in the ways of Windsinger and so she decided to go & be Exalted, becoming the first Exalted dragon in the clan. Her other children developed as well, but decided to stay within the clan and upon finding spouses, have also started families of their own, contributing to the growth of the SkyWings clan. As they have done so, Moriah & Autumn have taken up very important Roles themselves, with Moriah helping to shoulder some of the matriarchal responsibilities and implementing the Role system whereas Autumn helps to make the months of his namesake season all the more enjoyable for the dragons of the clan who'd much rather wish they were over and stay inside away from the cold. And now, GoldSong is grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and many more greats to some of the dragons in this clan.. yet she wouldn't have it any other way, and enjoys welcoming new hatchlings and watching them grow up, and she loves seeing her family expand :)

GoldSong was paired with many different Familiars before finally meeting Breezen, and none of them worked how her & him do since they weren't quite the right fit. The Spirit of Wind however, gets her better than any other, almost better than Valen, and she enjoys his company as they spend many days flying on the edges of the Twisting Crescendo. :)

GoldSong's role is being the clan's Matriarch, but also a role she shares with her daughter, Moriah. Since being the sole leader of a clan is a lot to shoulder, and might go to some dragon's heads, she shares it with her daughter to make sure that that never happens and to share the load. She rules justly and fairly and tries her best to keep the clan running and functioning, like a well-oiled machine. She also makes sure to provide a safe environment/haven for all the dragons that are in, have been chosen to join, choose to join themselves and have been sent to the SkyWings clan. GoldSong also tries to be a friend to all the dragons and be someone that any of the dragons can come to if they have any concerns. She is also part of the strongest and highest leveled team in the clan, but leaves the training and fighting related things to the male members of her team. :D
GoldSong is also the clan's Wind Representative! As stated above, she doesn't hail from this land originally, but over time, has come to appreciate the Way of the Wind & now works to show others the importance of this realm's deity & values to those around her & all in the clan :)

Been awhile since we took her to the Scrying Workshop so figured it'd be a good idea to check again with the new genes that have been added & see if anything might look better... and boy was I in for a sweet surprise... she's even more gorgeous! how is that possible? XD :0
