Kaisho is the eldest of Drake and Freida’s first clutch of eggs, and the only Mirror of the three. His brother Inigo was quick to seek out status among the Tidelord’s ranks, while the eldest, Raissuden, helped watch over Kaisho’s young with him before also choosing the path of an exalt. Kaisho preferred clan life because of his more social nature, and his sense of independence made him hesitate to submit himself to the whims of the Tidelord. He holds much respect for his deity, but wished to serve an active role in his parents’ domain.

The Mirror serves as the leader of the Clan Guard, who station themselves along the borders of the territory and keep watch for Beastclans and hostile dragons. Kaisho was sure to implement a policy of diplomacy when serving, ensuring that force was to be used only when necessary. They escort members of other clans to the leaders for possible alliances, and interact with merchants who wander across the seas in search of deals. Kaisho was also the first to assert that every dragon in the clan must take shifts on the guard upon reaching maturity, which his parents strongly agreed with. Even the leaders serve their time, but there are only a handful of permanent guard members.

Kaisho's life changed when Meraki, the young Imperial, entered the clan. Freida immediately took her in as her Charge, and deemed her the future clan leader over her own biological son. This upset Kaisho greatly, but he did his best to befriend Meraki--after all, she hadn't asked for the title. It sent a bit of a rift between Kaisho and Freida, one that still exists to this day. However, Kaisho holds no ill will toward Meraki. When the clan leadership officially changed paws, Meraki deemed Kaisho, rather than her mate Ruedi, to be co-leader.

RELATIONSHIPS
Ambriel and Kaisho formed quite a strong bond upon first meeting—Ambriel and her “sisters,” Nisha and Markelle, were among the first outsiders to join the fledgeling clan. The pair had hatchlings young, but after tragedy struck, Ambriel and Kaisho split. At this point, Kaisho established the clan’s guard, as the growing population and territory needed some deal of protection. In time, Kaisho and Ambriel mended their relationship, and their bond is stronger than ever.

Warsaw is Kaisho’s deputy, who met the Mirror in the Coliseum while perfecting his archery. Kaisho is skilled with a blade and Warsaw with a bow, but both had little experience in physical combat. They became regular sparring partners, and Kaisho invited the Nocturne to join the clan. They remain close friends, and Warsaw is more of an acting guard captain now that Kaisho oversees clan diplomacy and border policies.
Petra is the “tragedy” that nearly ruined her parents’ relationship. Out of a nest of four, only two survived—Petra and her brother, Zula. However, when they were hatchlings, Petra accidentally drowned Zula in the surf because she did not understand his cries for help. Ambriel defended Petra, while Kaisho wanted her exalted; a dragon with her ruthlessness would make a fine warrior for the Tidelord, and he would have preferred not to see the dragon who killed his son every day. Ambriel argued that Petra's disregard for rules and order would deem her unfit to serve the deity, and the disagreement led the pair to part ways. Freida allowed Petra to stay, albeit never unsupervised, and Ambriel introduced Petra to the Coliseum. Kaisho forgave his daughter in time, and despite her violence, he admires her unmatched fighting prowess. Petra does not remember anything, and it is a ferociously-guarded secret in the clan.

» General Trivia: While Kaisho gets along with his father extremely well, there has always been tension between he and Freida, and as a young dragon he constantly sought her approval before going his own way. For a while, he contemplated breed-changing into a Guardian in order to better understand her and her Charge instincts, but decided against it over time. He collects stone knives, and in his spare time is known to hew stones into various arrowheads and spears for fun.
