3-7-15: Born to a clutch of three, he decided not to wander, like his siblings, and instead made a home for himself in his Birth Clan. Noticing the hatchery project the other young Coatls were engaged in, he decided to try it out....

6-4-15: As the 2nd Hatchery Round starts to draw to a close, Onyx has several different females he is interested in... and an unusual enticement to offer: His playful Hedgehog companion has Awakened! Onyx is hoping that one of the female Coatls will see the merit of having a nice familiar around for the little ones to play with....

6-16-15: Whether it was the Hedgehog or not, the youngest Coatl of the Clan has, in fact, managed to catch himself a mate for this round... and he has 3 eggs in the Hatchery Ground to prove it! What will his offspring be like? He can hardly wait....

6-28-15: Onyx's three children are a constant joy to him--though he must watch his two sons from afar, as shortly after they were weaned they left the Clan together and journeyed to Wind Flight.... Onyx wishes them well, and is now devoting his time to doting on his tolerant daughter....

7-20-15: Onyx recently learned that his oldest son, Chaya, has been chosen by the Earthshaker to join his Exalted ranks. To say that the proud father is impressed would be a decided understatement....

...Meanwhile, Chaya's brother, who chose his name of Komur at the same time, appears to be settling in at the Wind Flight they had shared together--though only time will tell if he will follow his sibling or not....

9-9-15: Onyx's current youngest has decided to follow her brothers to Wind Flight--though to a different Clan. Perhaps there is something in the water over there... but whatever it is, it certainly inspires Onyx's children to do well, as Komur is enjoying himself in his Clan as well.....

12-9-15: In an unexpected twist, Onyx has bonded with another familiar.... this one a centaur. The Centaur Archer was busy attempting to shoot Merlin--who wasn't taking well to the statement that she would not help him in his Astrology equations--in the er, backside, when Onyx wandered up looking for his hedgehog.... and when the two locked gazes, it quickly became apparent where this young female was going to be camping from now on—though how a Fire Creature is going to cope with being bonded to an Arcane dragon is anyone’s guess….

2-28-16: During the Trickmurk Circus, Twilight and Duskshadow bumped into Onyx's son Komur. ( , ) When she returned to the Clan, she brought news of both Onyx’s sons, confirming that Chaya joined the Earthshaker, and that Komur is very happy in his chosen Clan. ( , ) Onyx was thrilled to learn that his middle son’s Clan has moved to Dragonhome, and especially that Komur himself is settling in so well there. ( , ) Perhaps someday soon Onyx will have a grandchild or 2...

3-8-16: The answer to how Fire bonds with Arcane has been found: Very badly. Onyx has gotten used to dodging arrows every time he and Sagittaria (who hates her name with a passion) interact. At this point, it seems almost to be a game between them, and Onyx is not sure if the Centaur Archer's Awakening is going to make the game less deadly--or more....

9-22-19: Onyx got a bit of a surprise today while digging through the Hoard. He was looking for some nice metals to mount his Focus Stones on when he accidentally tripped over the Clan's newest addition to the Bestiary: A Crystalspine Gem Guardian. The young spirit had apparently wandered into the apparel section of the Hoard looking for new gems...and found a dragon to bond with instead! Even better, the Gem Guardian helped Onyx to pick out some nice iron, silver, and alabaster to take to Anguis to have made into new jewelry pieces for his gems. Now Onyx has a beautiful Respectable Alabaster Locket to hold his smaller Focus Stones, and a tasteful Ornate Iron Bracelet for his largest piece of onyx, and he is already feeling that this new relationship will be a fruitful one...

...Nor did the surprises end there. As Onyx was slipping his Locket on for the first time, his new Gem Guardian let out a sudden squeal of glee, and began to circle his head. It took Onyx only a few minutes of contemplation--and a quick check in a shiny shard of onyx--for him to realize what had his newest friend so excited: It seems that his first few tentative experiments with his new Focus Stone Jewelry has had a not-entirely unexpected result, as Onyx has now joined the ranks of those in the Clan to acquire visible representations of their magical prowess. He now has both an Earth and Arcane Halo! With the combination of his Crsytalcourt and Spellwrought Haloes, his new jewelry, and most especially his new companion, this Coatl is feeling quite pleased with the world at the moment...

12-28-19: Astra, the Crystalspine Gem Gaurdian has Awakened! Onyx is thrilled for his newest companion, and wondering what she will get into next...

6-13-20: Astra has been looking for a great many gems in all sorts of interesting places, and Onyx has been helping her, using his own unique "dark center" magic to do so. Perhaps it should not have been a surprise, then, that his aura has abruptly altered again: The Dark Coatl is now sporting a Murkmirth Halo along with his already existing Spellwrought and Crystalcourt Haloes. Only time will tell if this change is permanent, or if the aura will shift again...
