Dragon Log

A younger dragon who was uncomfortable in his original lair, he came from elsewhere in Arcane to grace the lair with his presence. At the moment, he is so enamored of his new home that he has not chosen a mate, or a name, or even thought of either. Perhaps in time he will find a nice Wildclaw to share his sleeping area with... Or maybe another Coatl?

7-6-14: After much thought, (and a kick in the tail from his new mate, Lapislazuli) he realized that his name has been staring him in the face all along...after all, what else would a pink, white, gray, and black gem be called? (Well. maybe Pearl, but that's a female name...perhaps one of his hatchlings?)

9-15-14: Quartz's Snowfall Elk, Prongs, has finally awakened! Perhaps he was encouraged by Lapislazuli's wolf Moony doing so yesterday?

9-18-14: Prongs and Moony have gone searching for Padfoot...and Quartz has found a beautiful gem well worthy of a Coatl such as himself for a friend. Interestingly, the Jeweled Octoflyer seems to agree…

12-15-14: Quartz has been watching the younger Coatls put together an interesting projerct...one which, to his great distress, LapisLazuli seems inclined to join with. Perhaps he should start looking around for a new mate.... or perhaps she is just teasing him? In the meantime, his Jeweled Octoflyer has Awakened to his full potential! This fact has cheered Quartz up considerably--so much so, that he is considering having a chat with his mate....

2-15-15: After much thought, Quartz decided to give the project a try, and now he is happy he did. In the end, the choice made was definitely one he could live with, and he is even looking forward to the next round and who will choose him next....

2-10-18: It has been some time since Quartz has bonded with a familiar, so it came as a shock to much of the Clan when he headed down into the Hoard with the obvious intention of searching for a new companion. Or at least, it was a shock right up until they realized which familiar Quartz was looking for. After all, how could he not have an interest in a creature like that? And it seems that the Quartz Cockatrice, now named Crystal, is very happy with his choice....

5-11-18: Crystal has Awakened! Quartz is extremely happy for her, and eager to see what she does first with her newfound energy...

9-30-18: The unusual magical surges in the Clan continue, and Quartz has now joined the list of dragons who has acquired a physical representation of his magical prowess. At least on him the Spellwrought Halo looks rather nice.....

1-27-19: The advent of a certain astral phenomenon has startled Quartz so much, that Moondust apparently decided that the elder mage needed some distraction from the moon disappearing, and sent him to the Ice Festival--and the Sornieth Winter Games! Quartz still isn't sure if this was a good idea, but he will try his best.... ( )

2-8-19: Despite his rocky start, Quartz has to admit that that event was actually somewhat fun--though he doubts that he will do it again next year. Still, it is nice to have a Participation Medal for his Trophy Shelf at last...

8-26-20: Quartz does not usually attend the Flameforger’s Festival, but this year there have rumors of an astonishing development at the Clan’s favorite “Ember Toss” Game: A Firebelly Scorpion Golem that can make sand into glass! ( ) Oh, he must have one of those scorpions! Or two, or three…At any rate, the older mage has traveled all the way to the Ashfall Waste just so he can make a try for one of these amazing beings, even if he need to get instruction on how to do it… ( , )

8-27-20: Fortunately, the Snapper running the Game was able to explain it to Quartz easily, and now he has not one Firebelly Scorpion, but 8! And a bunch of other critters, too… ( )

Truly this has been a wonderful experience! Perhaps he should consider coming back next year…
