"At night, there is an aurora on the horizon. Do you see it? It is right where that jagged hill cuts through the stars. They say that though the sanctum stands empty, it's lanterns never go out."

It has been a long day of journeying through the Sunbeam Ruins. Your sides ache, your wings have given out, and it feels as though knives are stabbing through your feet with every step. At least the heavy, searing heat of the sun has faded into night. Now there is the welcome glimmer of stars overhead and a breeze tinged with the faint scent of smoke and... is that incense?

The path is steep. Rocks jut out of the earth and tree roots snake under your feet, threatening to trip you. Branches form a thin web overhead lending their eerie shadows to the moonlight. There are no leaves to rustle in the breeze on these trees. Only the soft creaking of limb against limb. As you near the sanctum, everything inside you screams to turn back, but you have come this far. There is no sense in giving up now.

The trees to one side are soon replaced with the crags of the hillside and you hear the flow of water ahead. You are almost there. You round a bend and come across the falls rushing down the side of the cliff and feeding into the moat. There in front of you stands a tall fortress. It's walls are made of crystal which captures the starlight and sends it dancing along the ground. It's windows should stare black and empty, but no. It's true. There is a faint flicker as of life within the sanctum. The lanterns dance behind the crystal walls and in the windows. The ghostly glow skitters along the wall of the cliff and in the foamy surface of the moat.

The drawbridge is lowered, much to your surprise. It is almost as if the sanctum is welcoming you, drawing you in to its eerie depths. You know you should turn back, but your curiosity is piqued. What secrets will you find? And are the rumors of hidden treasure true? You can only imagine that if there ever was treasure hidden behind those walls it would have been pillaged by now, but the fortress's phantom visage would frighten all but the bravest. And if anyone has entered its labyrinth and emerged, they have not seen fit to share the tale. You take a deep breath and then take a step forward.

Just stopping by to give my thanks for taking in Peregrine!! I was having such a hard time selling him, and I'm just so glad he's finally found a home here, and is being well taken care off! Let me know if he ends up having a couple dragonets, yeah?
