The Shifting Expanse... As they border the Ashfall Waste, Nines is much more familiar with them than the Scarred Wasteland by far. Their industrial activities require loads of metals, particularly copper and iron. They make a key trade partner to the forges of the Waste. With both elements known for their strong work ethic, Nines has noticed that Lightning and Fire dragons often get along professionally but not necessarily personally. Few can, with how passionate a Fire dragon can be, so he doesn't blame them.

"The Shifting Expanse, huh? I've heard plenty about it but never been there myself. We have some great trading partners among them so I suppose I'll be paying a visit sooner or later. I'll probably have to invest in some rubber boots if the lightning strikes are as common as some of my Lightning clanmates say they are. My antlers tend to make me a target for the rare storm that rolls up the Great Furnace, after all!"

Nines hopes that he can win the goblin's trust. It's a long shot but he has a fair bit of charisma and always likes making new friends.

"I'm scouting out a good route for my clan to follow for the Riot. Moving over a hundred dragons of all breeds and elements is quite a production to say the least! Not everyone goes of course, but the vast majority of the clan loves festivals and travels to every one. While I'm out and about I'm also hunting for treasure and stories to bring back. It's amazing how much knowledge is out there that we're completely unaware of... Like until recently I had no idea that different diseases on fungi gave them different flavors. Little details like that will probably make Souji very happy. He's one of the cooks since everyone agrees what he makes is the absolute best."

She didn’t know too much about Fire dragons due to being confined to the Canyon for the most part. She knew much more about the Sea and its inhabitants. The clan did have one Fire native visitor though. He tried to light everything on fire, causing him to be put out of the generally welcoming and accepting clan. No pyromaniacs. “Glass and plastic are good insulators too. Except glass explodes when its struck and and plastic melts waaaay too easily. And the fumes of melted plastic are toxic to breathe.” Delta said thoughtfully. How did she know so much if she was a Wind dragon? “Ooh! Kyras is our cook, their mushroom dishes are amazing! Maybe if I find something out about that, they can use that information too! I don’t know a whole lot about it cos’ I’m a fisherdragon, ya know?” Delta smiled. The Goblin was not one to be won over so easily. It did uncross its arms at least.[/center]

The wind picked up and the scent was gone. He knew she was a careful dragon so it did not shock him that she made sure not to leave too much of a scent trail but it was the fact that he had gone in circles a few times following it that made him worried. His mate was born in the plague lands but had not lived there since she was a hatchling, he knew she did not know the area and had gotten worried when she didnt come back the past day..

She was still very close to where the Wasteland bordered the Windswept Plateau, and she thought she could see some lairs in the distance. In the harsh light of day, it was obvious that she wasn't entirely solid yet. She decided that she wouldn't go amiss if she found something to drape over herself again. She could pass for another traveling dragon -- by the time she was fully reformed, she would be back in the Scarred Wasteland once more.
