Iiiiiiit's that time again! This is your reminder ping: tomorrow, July 14th, is a Lore Whining Day!

Speaking of time: if anyone's set up timelines for their lair/lore, how the heck did you do it? I've been working on one for mine to try and get everything organized - figure out who comes in when and if that thing happens before this other thing and all that - but MAN THIS IS RIDICULOUS. Since I've got a big city and about a bajillion characters (and other places in Sornieth on top of that), there are so many ways that all these combinations could feasibly play out. I'm beginning to think this might be a bit TOO ambitious of a project, hahaha~

Personal goals for the day: try to get some lore down for the special guards of the city's Forest District, figure out who's in charge and who isn't and how everyone goes about their duties. And then after that, work on the timeline. |D

Oh sweet! I guess today's goal is gonna be to find more voices for my dragons, seeing as that's been something I've been slowly chipping away at. Maybe get a bio done?

Also @After I can't help you on setting up your timeline I don't even have mine written down yet but what helped me was that my timeline changed and developed as my clan did. Starting from my early days as a newbie to now. I guess I'd suggest putting down your biggest events that have occurred, then work on the inbetweens?

I swear I'll actually do Sirius' lore. I SWEAR.
On the easier side, I think I'll sort out the nomadic dragons in the clan and where they live when not in clan territory.

My goal is to decide if I'm definitely keeping the white and blue dergs I got, and if so, add my bio template to their pages.

Maybe use a timeline?like the ones you do when studying history:
First you place the dates and bigger events, those that affect the whole clan or even sornieth! This will help you to divide the whole story and help placing you in a moment in time. Think of this ones as immovable, the base of your structure

Then you go slowly working in the less important ones, those who affect a big group of dragons for example. This can be moved but "inside" a big period of time (the ones you had placed before) and last the events that only affect only a few, they cna be moved almost freely but they are better remind between certain events (the 2nd step in this ladder, per say)...of course there might be exceptions when creating a story from 0 or trying to figure out how all works ^^U

I finally figured out the real permanent leaders of my clan but NOW the timeline is a righteous mess and it's all over the place. OTL

@/After Lair lore timeline? Who's got the time for that? I have no idea what happens when soooo uhhh.... *shrug* All I know is that for one reason or another my random progen started a war some years ago that split up my main clan into eleven groups, one for each flight, who all answer to my current leader (custom progen) out of respect to her and fear of another war starting. Since it kinda wiped out most of that clan. Then there's gonna be a thing where another dragon takes control over it eventually but I haven't gotten that out yet. [s]Maybe making a thread and writing the entire thing down will help in the form of a complete book-like story will help? *shrugs* I kinda have sorta plans on doing that eventually. Maybe. I dunno really yet.[/s] And then there's my other clan... Oh boy my lore is a hot mess. ANYWAY! And she has decent colors. And there's lore possibilities. And AAAAAHHHHHHHHH.

it's my Lore Thread, which badly needs updating, but it has a timeline post of sorts. I was forced to make one since I haven't written much beyond a specific point yet. c.c; All I did was use the List and Indent features.
