as it stands, favoriting something from the game database only affects the database itself. helpful, yes, but i think it would do some good to expand it's reach to other areas of the site.
specifically, in the marketplace.
i don't know about the rest of you, but i have an absolute ton of projects, especially in the apparel department. i have my own little list of things i need, but it requires manual updating every single time i acquire something, and it's pretty easy for my scatterbrained self to forget what i do and don't have, what i still need or have already bought.
also, it's a long list. remembering every single thing i need from it is...tedious, to put it lightly. and so is constantly going back over it and checking it and then re-checking it whenever something pops up in the mp and i can't remember if that's something i need or not.
however, if favoriting things in the database put some sort of indicator in the mp that it was favorited/something i wanted, it would smooth out this whole process a lot.

[ID: an image of the markplace, in the apparel section. all of the rows are filled with different pieces of apparel. two of them, Autumn Breeze and Pristine Rose Thorn Gloves, have a little golden star in the upper right corner of the item's portraits, mirroring the apparel helmet icon. the background for all of the other items are a pale sort of beige, while the two items with stars have backgrounds that are more yellow in color, making them stand out.]
however, if having the backgrounds be different colors would potentially cause issues, then just having a star in the item's portrait would work just as well i think.

[ID: an image of a single piece of apparel from the marketplace, a Lucky Sage Sash. it has the same little star in the upper right corner of the item's portrait, but the background is the normal beige color instead of yellow.]
obviously, if staff thinks the star would need to look different--bigger, smaller, a different graphic all together, be positioned in a different spot, ect.--then that would be up to them, of course. these images are only proof of concepts to help spark ideas.
as i said, the favoriting system by itself is already pretty nice. i just think that it could be further improved by allowing people to make use of it outside of the database. when opening chests is another example; the portrait could have the same star icon in the corner, indicating that it's favorited and something of interest.

[ID: an image of the 'open multiple items' popup. there are six items, one of which has a star icon in the upper left corner of the item's portrait.]
anyways yeah that's it. thank u for reading

I like the mockups you've made. Personally I would make full use of the favorites feature if it would expand to the marketplace. Right now I'm sort of neglecting it

Support, always support for feasible QoL improvements. Nice jobs with the mockups btw
YES. This is a little thing I've wanted for months. I remember when I discovered the favorite function and was so happy because I thought it would make it so much easier to find stuff I needed. Then I realised it only worked for the database itself and it was a big "what's the point then" moment tbh

This sounds like a wonderful idea to help bridge functionality between different parts of the site. Tying this functionality in with a marker in the hoard and AH would be a great way of tying the various item interaction systems together, as well.

Support! I also favorite things I need, and although they show up in the Hoard with the update, it doesn't help with the MP. I'd also like there to be a way to let you know how many of an item you need on the site, without using an external list. If I have an item favorited and get one and unfavorite it, but it turns out I need two, I might forget if I don't have another way of tracking. This might be especially common with Swipp/Baldwin mats.

Support! I need this in my life X3
I have favorited so many things, it’s insane. I’d like to know if I find something good in my chests to know if I need to go to my Others section to put stuff in the vault.
The images are great, love the star idea. Coloring the rest of the image does look like it’d become an issue for coding but idrk.

recently learned that the database and the hoard's favorites are already connected, even if you initially favorite something from the hoard and not the db!

the fact that these systems are linked just makes me want for an expansion to other areas of the site even more. i had originally been a bit concerned about what lengths would have to be taken to do such a thing in terms of coding, but this has alleviated all of my worries to see that it's already essentially been done, just somewhere else.
