Alright, here is what I have to announce!
Only the OOC chat is open so you can turn in characters as you wait for the actual roleplaying to start. That will be announced using the
The Beginning of an Era pinglist so you all can head to town on it when all is done and operational.
There are a few things I want to say before you go ahead and start.
Characters will be open to being approved. If there are some special looking characters, it is most likely because I have talked with the creators already and have put them through a workshop. If you are unsure about a character you have, you may pm me directly to have it workshopped and approved before posting it here.
Roleplay will not happen until the completion of the World Status forum! This is where all the numbers and reports go into, as well as the announcements for the time of day, the day we are on in the roleplay, in game discoveries, camp report updates, missions and sign ups, zombie waves, and other such in game news that will be important. So take this time to workshop the perfect characters to play with in the roleplay when the time comes!
I need some opinions on how we will do this, and I need your responses. There are a few things I am unsure about that I want you guys to decide for me. This roleplay was abruptly shout down for a month and left to rot when my previous account was closed, and so I lost a lot of time, players, and information during that month. So I am not sure how the community is doing, where I left off in the roleplay, and missed the suggestions and characters of many others. Please respond to this portion of the message.
Questions for Players
Resume or Renew?
Would you guys prefer to start a new game and reintroduce yourselves to the world, or would you like to resume the game we had before?
I will happily go back through the messages and reread what I had missed, but I don't know if others will do the same. Not too much progress was made last game since it was it was still being play tested and wasn't really meant to be as big as it was right away like that, so some might not have had much to hang onto in the beginning. So I'm asking those who did whether they want to keep those reactions as they were and continue on from there, or start completely from scratch. I myself wish to continue from the last responses, but I want to know what you guys want and what you think about it. If you're really feeling unsure, give us the pros and cons of each option to help others decide. We really want to hear from you!

Do You Want More Roles First or More Camps?
I have many, MANY things in the works right now, and I have to prioritize them. So here is your question.
Do you want more roles to be made first? Do you want more available camps first? Or do you want revision and spiffing up in the current camps and forums so they are easier to understand and traverse? Please say which one you want the most to come first, then the second one you want the most.
The pros to having more Roles and Subroles first:
- More diversity in characters and most likely more reasons to travel outside of camps and to interact with others. There will be more systems that require roles (such as Mercenary, Merchant, and possibly Couriers) to go out into the dangerous wide world and to meet new characters and find new interactions. And more zombie attacks too!
The Cons to Roles First:
- Camps will then take a little more time to establish and for systems and NPCs to be created and put in place. Although this is not a problem, I have noticed others seem to complain about that, which is why I made RuneRelic to help spread characters out a bit more across the world. Go to the pros for camps to see which will be made first.
Pros for Camps being made first:
- More places and communities to interact with others in so not everybody is forced to be in the wind territory.
- More camps means more territories are opened up to roleplayers to interact in.
- first camps to be made will be in Ashfall Waste, Tangled Woods, Starfall Isles, and Dragonhome, since they are more likely to be used in travel. Water domain is going to be special.
- More experience for us to allow me to properly template what needs to happen for player run camps to become a thing.
Cons to more camps to be made first:
- This means I will need my admins to be more spread out with their NPCs, and that can be stressful
- Camps take the most time to create and are a lot of work. A lot of thought, ideas, time, effort, and visual artwork must go into a camp. I may have to reorder the forums to hold them all.
- World Status is more crowded early on, and right now we are still play testing new systems of play style and the future of player run camps are uncertain
- characters spread way too far out too early with not enough players to keep a camp active and running
Pros to Revision and Spiffing:
- Can flesh out ideas and story early on
- Gives more room and time to work with
- Cleaner ways of explanations and faulty systems can be corrected sooner to prevent worldwide confusion
- Camps will be more thoroughly explained and built more soundly earlier on, meaning more sensible order than ever lasting chaos
- Therapeutic in my opinion
- Graphics will be higher up in priority, meaning their will be visual references to go with important information
- More room to improve on roles and their systems
- More NPCs will be more thoroughly described and fleshed out
- Gives me a chance to develop the overall story of the roleplay and all that you may find
Cons to Revising and Spiffing first:
- Roles will be automatically put into second priority, meaning camps will come last
- Graphics take time, and I may take this chance to work on stuff far into the future
- Current story needs time and work to get rolling, so things might not happen right away
If you could give your opinions on why things would be best to prioritize, it would help me greatly in prioritizing my time and figuring out what you as players want to see the most. I might not follow the overall vote exactly (because I don't always follow the plan to a if I feel I can make something better in that moment), but it will be valued greatly in the overall production of this RPG of a beast I am building. (Yes, I consider myself more of a gamer now with the SHEER SIZE of this project. And I intend to make it last a LONG time for everybody who wants to be involved. So just know a lot of thought is being pumped into this project.)
