"Ok that's it, Darius had his chance, just finish that thing off!" Charlotte called. The Liepard was looking pretty bad, hopefully a few more attacks by multiple Pokemon would be enough to defeat it at this point.

Kyrin winced as the Great Ball broke open, remains scattering across the ground. If Darius didn't get it with a Great Ball and he was going to try with a regular Pokeball, she was really doubtful of his chances.
"Yeah, Charlotte's right, if you're still trying then throw it now! It's asleep!" Kyrin suggested.

Kyrin winced as the Great Ball broke open, remains scattering across the ground. If Darius didn't get it with a Great Ball and he was going to try with a regular Pokeball, she was really doubtful of his chances.
"Yeah, Charlotte's right, if you're still trying then throw it now! It's asleep!" Kyrin suggested.

Darius pulled one Pokeball out of his bag and threw it. It was one more chance. Then he'd admit defeat.
Much like before, the Liepard was sucked inside. Only this time, it didn't even stay in for one single click. The Pokeball practically exploded, sending pieces flying all over the area. Darius sighed and recalled Munna back to its Pokeball. "Well, they say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result," he half-joked, looking sheepishly at Charlotte in particular. "We should call the aces before the situation worsens."

Dead silence. Complete shock. "HOLY MOTHER OF VICTINI, I IUST CAUGHT THAT THING." Carmen ran forwards and picked up the Pokeball. "Oh Arceus...." she whispered. She turned to stare at the others. "No need to call the Aces now," she said weakly. A smile spread across her face. "WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!" she cheered, fistpumping the air before dripping to the floor and hugging Sam and Oscar, who were standing there, shocked. "Can I get a high five?" She said smiling, turning to her friends.

Charlotte gave Carmen a weak, stunned high-five. Well sure, of course. Of course, why wouldn't something like this happen. Fine then. She wasn't even mad that Carmen suddenly had a level-40 Pokemon, she wasn't off the adrenaline high of the battle yet.
Charlotte walked over to Wilbur and Merlin to check on them. Merlin was a little dinged up from the throw at the beginning of the fight and they both looked tired, but otherwise unscathed. She picked them both up.
"You all ok, dudes?"
You know, since they caught a powerful Pokemon, shouldn't her Pokemon have levelled up a bit? She looked at Merlin first, and patted him approvingly. "Looks like you learned a few more moves! We'll try them out after a break."
She switched to Wilbur's page, "Wow, you learned a lot of moves! Uh, this must be a glitch." She looked closer. "It says your species is Pigni-"
As if on cue, Wilbur oinked frantically and started glowing white. Charlotte instinctively covered her face from the light, and when she finally looked again, Wilbur had already finished his evolution to a Pignite.
"Woah!" Charlotte shot up. Wilbur and Merlin also seemed confused- Merlin hopped over to sniff him and Wilbur waved his arms around, unused to being bipedal and taller than his friend. He tried to take a step towards Charlotte but fell backwards.
After so many exhausting and exciting twists and turns the past...ten or twenty minutes? Charlotte couldn't help but smile out of relief that everything was over. "Hey Merlin, do you feel up to teaching your teacher now?" she joked. "Wilbur's gonna need to learn how to walk on 2 feet soon!"

Juniper was on video call with her father when a new notification popped up in the corner of her screen.
"Well," he said. "It seems you're busy. It's been good talking to you, sweetie-"
"Dad, I'm thirty-one-"
"See you around!" And he cut the connection.
With a sigh, she opened the notification and frowned at the information on her screen. Carmen had just caught a Liepard. Caught. She didn't have her first badge yet. "How in the world? Where did she even run into a Liepard?"
She checked the location of the catch. "Wait, why was there a Liepard in the DreamYard?!" she exclaimed. "It would've decimated the local psychic Pokemon population! How did the Rangers miss this?!"
Not knowing if she should call Carmen or the Rangers first, Juniper sat frozen for a good five seconds before taking a deap breath. She released Elgyem and teleported to the Striaton Pokemon Center to wait for her group of trainers.
Once in the lobby, she called the Rangers. "I'm Professor Juniper and you better have a very good explanation for this"

Finally, he managed to gather his thoughts together... and burst out laughing. After a minute or two, he finally calmed down. Still grinning, he said, "I can't even be mad, that's just plain lucky!"
