[font=century][size=4]Strangekit whipped around, prancing to keep moving. She couldn't see the beetle, but she could hear it. It's tiny claws fought against the grass, trying to dig into the earth. Without hesitation, Strangekit bounded over towards the spot. She caught the bug beneath her paws, capturing it underneath her.
"Raventooth, I've got it!" she cried. Cedarbark grunted, but his eyes were bright. He trotted over to Strangekit, who was examining her catch. "Good job," he congratulated her. "Thanks, Cedarbark!" she replied, gingerly grasping the bug in her teeth.

Specklestar watched Echoheart rush over to the meeting in shame, she began to announce the assignments for each cat. Their faces were fixed on hers as she began to speak.
"As you all know, today is the first day of Greenleaf, and hopefully a prosperous one." She projected. "I would like the warriors to pair up and I'll assign each pair to the North, West and River boarders. I'm trusting you on who you pick, as boarder patrols are a serious business and messing around will not be tolerated."
She waited patiently as the cats arranged themselves, and she waited for Wolfstrike to return with the others.

May I join? I'm new to flight rising and don't know if there is any way I can ping like on Sylestia.

She was very intrigued as she listened to Specklestar speaking. Then couldn't help but felt kind self-aware as her eyes quickly searched the other cats. Whenever someone was looking at her, she had on a teeth-showing smile as her felis optics lit up as if literally saying 'Pick me! Pick me!'
Echoheart wasn't even sure if anyone would be willing to teach an overgrown kitty cat with a pup-like personality about getting a grip on living a life as a warrior, but it's certainly wouldn't hurt to try, her head was tilted as she await patiently, for someone to decide to pick her as their patroling partner. If not then... well Echoheart would figure something out! Never lose hope and never stop trying!

[font=century][size=4]Doestep glanced around the camp at the assembled warriors. Already, she was thrilled. Greenleaf always brought prey along with it; fat and fresh and ready to be eaten. Doestep drew her tongue across her muzzle. Just the thought made her mouth water. She paced around the clearing, waiting for some cat to ask her to join them.

Dawnpetal
Her eyes opened gently at first--soft flutters of the eyelid, her pupil ebbing and flowing to adjust to the afternoon light. Dawnpetal's mouth stretched open into a yawn, and her legs stretched and cracked. Her ears flickered. Voices...? Cats are moving..? Just then, her eyes widened and her fur stood on end. The she-cat shot up frantically, head turning back and forth and back and forth, and she scurried around busily arranging her herbs. "FOXDUNG!" She spat loudly; her harsh voice carried throughout the clan. "FOXDUNG FOXDUNG FOXDUNG! I overslept!" Dawnpetal's eyes were narrowed. She was clearly agitated as she walked out to the edge of her den, scanning the clan for something to do. Needless to say... the other cats probably knew she was up.
Foxpaw
Foxpaw, curious and quiet, had been out of the apprentice den for quite some time. He padded through the forest, letting his fur soak up the sun and loving the birds singing. It was out here, alone, that he truly felt at peace. However, he knew he wasn't supposed to be out here... hopefully, his mentor Doestep (or any other warriors for that matter) didn't notice his absence. Foxpaw began to make his way back to the clan, the scent of the crisp forest air clinging to his pelt.
Sparrowpaw
Foxpaw isn't here! When the she-cat woke up, energetic and curious as usual, she spun around the apprentice den. "Foxpaw? Foxpaw!" Nowhere to be seen. She let out a sigh--she knew where he was. Sparrowpaw quickly licked her paws and stretched to wake herself up, and then she dashed out into the clearing where the other cats are gathering. She spotted the black-and-white she-cat who mentored her brother, and trotted up to her. Sparrowpaw offered a sheepish smile. "Hi, uh, Doestep! Foxpaw is in the forest... alone... again."

Moondusk
Moondusk slept in late as usual. He didn't like the sun and how it's beams hit his pelt he thought it was just awful! But not wanting to waste anymore time the black and white tom got up and shook out his pelt. With a stretch of his legs he passed out of the den and looked at speckpaw.
"Hello speckpaw how are you" he meowed to the young apprentice.

Raventooth's eyes glimmered happily. "Good job Strangekit. Willowkit!" She called for the other kit to return, before turning to Strangekit. "Let's stay here for a bit so we don't get in the way of the warriors, alright?" Closing her eyes, she settled down, purring softly as she enjoyed the sun that warmed her pelt. Cracking open one eye, she regarded the kit before her. "Would you like to hear a story? We can pass the time and wait for the warriors to leave." Oh, how she still had yet to tell. To be honest, she sometimes made a few stories up, but that was if the kits were especially feisty. Even for being a queen, one who should probably retire to the elder den right about now, Raventooth had lived a very
exciting life as a warrior before she chose to settle down.
Splinterpelt shouldered into Galepaw, having snuck up on his cranky apprentice. "Oh, I see you're awake." He drawled out in an exasperated tone. After chuckling for a bit, he turned serious and faced Galepaw. "We're going to patrol the River border. When we're done, I'm teaching you how to fish. Then I'm teaching you a few battle moves." His eyes glimmered slightly, but he then turned around and briskly stalked to the center of the clearing, brushing up against Mottleclaw. He whispered something into the older cat's ear, causing Mottleclaw to turn back and look at Galepaw. Both cats quietly conversed with one another before Splinterpelt gestured Galepaw over with his tail.

[font=century][size=4]"I'd love to hear a story!" Strangekit cried. Raventooth's tales were her favorite; full of wonder and adventure, even if they were probably a bit over exaggerated.
Still, Strangekit wished that she could join the warriors and sit beside them during the clan meeting. She wanted to prove herself to them. But she knew that the time for that would come later. Strangekit coiled her tail around herself and sat, ears pricked.
