Cougar has timeskipped into the scene.

Cougar

Cougar jolted awake as a bloodcurdling screech tore through the air. What was that? A student? What's going on? She thought frantically, although her mind was still clouded by sleep. She stood up, grabbed the nearest fireglobe, and lit it with a burst of flame. A dim orange light flared in her eyes, making her blink several times, but she staggered toward the exit.

She bumped into something cold, and arched her tail with a loud hiss, before realizing it was Freeze. "Oh, talons and tails!" She swore, shaking her head. "Sorry about that! Let's wake the other teachers if they haven't gotten up yet, and send someone to warn the students to stay in bed!"

(now I realize I probably should have posted Freeze's reaction in here whoops)

"By the three moons, do you know what happened?" Freeze asked. " And yeah, let's wake everyone else." He turned to the other teachers, shaking them awake. "I don't see Solstice or Aspen anywhere, or Top-" He was cut off(so many cut offs) by the orange SkyWing bursting into the cave.

"Solstice and Aspen are dead! There bodies are outside in the Main Hall." Topaz said solemnly. "And they were murdered." She looked almost on the verge of tears.

Cougar

Cougar gasped, her black eyes widening. "Murdered? Oh, frog spit and camel turds, this is terrible news! I'll warn the students! Everyone else should go search the school for the murderer at once."

She took her fireglobe and swept out of the cave, with heat rising in her throat and her tail coiled to spring.

Cougar has left the scene.

Topaz nodded, shaking a bit. "A murder on the second day? This is worse than the first opening of Jade Mountain Academy! What else could happen now..."

Freeze didn't seem to hear her and he rushed after Cougar. "I'll help you warn them!" He called. "I'll tell the gold and silver Winglets.

Freeze has left

Cormorant

Cormorant was shaken awake by Freeze, and was still struggling to wake up all the way when Topaz came in and told them about Solstice and Aspen.

"But- but... Solstice and Aspen are teachers!" He said, his voice unnaturally high pitched. Cormorant shivered. "Why would anyone want to kill Solstice and Aspen? Are they trying to destroy the school? That means none of us are safe- oh, oh, oh sea snails, this is terrible."

Cougar and and Freeze left, and so he turned to Topaz. "Uh, maybe we ought to search in pairs? It's probably a lot safer that way..." Cormorant said, trying to hide the shaking in his voice. He was a Seawing- no fire, no venom, no camoflauge scales, just his own teeth and talons to protect himself.

"Good idea." She said, shaking out her wings. "Let's go and get..." She choked a bit here. "Their bodies..."

"O-okay," Cormorant said, his voice faltering. "How do we... get rid of them?" He almost whispered the last part.

Topaz sighed. "I don't know. We might have to wait until morning. For now, I say no one walks alone, and if you observe anything suspicious, leave immediately and tell a teacher." She said, her energy levels obviously lower than yesterday.

Cormorant sighed. "Yes, it does seem like making sure the murderer hasn't stuck around should be our main priority right now," he said.
