[b]Comment:[/b] HELLO MY FRIENDS allow me to tell you about this funky little guy. The Atlantic cranch squid is a species of glass squid that live in the pelagic deep-waters, from the subarctic and temperate waters of the northern Atlantic Ocean. They are easily recognizable by their very, very big eyes, that have three bioluminescent organs on their eyeballs.
Their defensive behavior is, initially, similar to that of other cephalopods, releasing a cloud of ink into the water and jetting away. However, if the threat continues, it inflates itself into a ball!

"It's a tardigrade!" said Ludmilla, her tail whipping around dangerously. Dr. Hazel spotted a couple of worried scientists shielding their arrangements of glass bottles from the young Imperial's eager tail.
But Ludmilla's enthusiasm was boundless. "Tardigrades are so freaking cute!" she squealed. "And they're found in literally every habitat ever. They've even survived exposure to outer space."
"Now how did they do that?" said Dr. Hazel. "I guess they have folks who specialize in space exploration over at the Starfall Isles."
"Yep, they put little astronaut helmets on these guys and shoot them right into space," said Ludmilla, nodding as she patted the microscope. "It's crazy."
Dr. Hazel peered down into the microscope again to see if she could spot a tardigrade floating among the debris. After a minute of looking, with Ludmilla helped her adjust the scope, she thought she'd found one.
"It looks like a caterpillar," she said, adjusting the focus. "Is it... did it just wave at me?"
Dr. Hazel tried to look harder, but of course she couldn't. The microscope had its limits. But sure enough, the tardigrade looked like it was waving at her.
"Impossible," she said, shaking her head.
"What's that?" asked Ludmilla.
"Oh, never mind," said Dr. Hazel, not wanting to admit she thought she saw a microscopic creature waving at her. "It's nothing at all."[nextcol]
