He approached the Gladekeeper and bowed and she shifted a gentle eye to Singdhursigh. "Welcome, child, what is your desire?" The green Guardian raised his head stoically. "Mother, I have returned from the borders, and I have seen…occurrences that distraught me.” The Gladekeeper tilted her head in confusion, and the trees bent with her. Singdhursigh sat on his haunches. “I have seen your children mingling with other elements and clans, and I cannot help but feel our presence is being diminished by the,” he waved a claw in the air, “lackluster abundance of our elemental gradient grandeur.” Gladekeeper smiled and the flowers bloomed around her. “My dear child, you were always one to substitute larger words when simpler ones would do.” “Our true colors are being diluted by allowing other elemental clans to breed with ours. I want to restore our element back to our roots. Your roots.” “So you wish to build a clan as green as my glen and as strong as the roots that bind us all.” Singdhursigh nodded determinedly. Gladekeeper laughed and the glen erupted in birdsong. “Oh my, child, you have much to learn about the world.” She peered down at the young dragon kindly. “It matters not to me what skin my children wear, but I sense in your eyes a longing for a family, and in your heart a desire to be responsible for a cause. And,” she smirked, “a longing to learn about the true nature of the world. Go forth. Recruit dragons of forest, spring, and other greenry. Do what your soul desires, but do not forget that I love all my children no matter their appearance, and I will protect and cherish all that protect and cherish Nature.” Singdhursigh bowed. “I promise to fill your skies and fields with a canopy of green so that all may know your power.” The Gladekeeper waved him away as her attendants resumed preening her leafy canopy. As Singdhursigh left he grinned to himself. “I will make the world a greener place, for better or worse, my Gladekeeper. Just you wait and see.” |
