Quote:
The first snowfall of the year!
Alis awoke and stretched creakily, acting as a gentle alarm to the rest of the lair (or at least gentle to everyone who was not sleeping beside her, as her husband Val would point out).
Val attempted to roll over and go back to sleep, but his wife nudged him, urging him awake.
"It snowed, Val. Wake up."
After a few groggy grumbles, Val finally responded, pushing away his wife's claw. "What do you mean it snowed?"
The Imperial's response was interrupted by a shout from their daughter, Valentine:
"Mom. Dad? What why is there all this white stuff on the ground?"
The couple looked at each other, Alis smirking and Val frowning, before making their way out of the lair.
"I told you," Alis laughed as she saw the ground coated evenly in sparkly white, although the evenness was quickly being disturbed by Valentine's excited frolicking and other member's of the clan joining her. "I could feel it in my bones. That's how it works, you know. Bad bones, good at telling the weather. Bad husbands -"
"Good at finding great second husbands," Val interrupted with a grin, earning him a huffy chuckle and nuzzle. "You ought to go back in, this weather can't be good for your braces, much less your bones."
"Are you kidding?" Alis asked, "Nothing is good for my bones, and my braces need repair anyway. I haven't seen snow in what feels like years, I'm going to enjoy it!" And with that, she bounded off as best she could to join her daughter and the others.
Val stood for a moment and grumbled, but after seeing the joy in his wife's eyes, the was nothing he could think to do but go out and join the fray. And start planning a romantic evening in front of a fire to warm her up with, later.
