"I've only seen snow like this in the Southern Icefield! I wonder how it got all the way over here in Plague..." He screeches to a halt in front of the younger Wildclaw. "Come on, Iris, you can't spend your life inside the tunnels, it's too boring." Before she can protest, he pushes her face-first into a snowdrift. "...Oops." He whispers as his mate stands up, the wild gleam in her eyes returning. "I'm sorry!" He takes off running as the dark blue Wildclaw springs towards him.

Telusia almost instantly knew what was going on as there was a loud thud from another part of the sleeping chambers. She had been around tundras long enough, since way back when she lived in the Arcane lands. She heard her mate grumble something about a pair of shears and only giggled slightly. Somewhere up above, the fire-born Nocturnes were dramatically opening wings and starting to light the lanterns and fire channels, illuminating the room, causing Vokkun to grumble something even more inaudible that got glares from the two. The source of the noise was immediately evident, the light revealing a clearly irritated Citrine, who's legs were too heavy with fur to lift properly. Rolling like a ball on the floor was his tiny adopted son, colorful fur dominating the tiny thing's whole body except for his face and the tips of his feet. He kicked helplessly at the air, trying to get up and cease his rolling, to no avail. Ponderosa was in fits of laughter at her own mate, who was clearly not used to his species' seasonal changes. The door to the outer clearing was opened, and a pile of snow fell into the den. There was a loud set of incredibly high-pitched screeching as the Faes seemed to wake up in unison and dive into the snow. The more Gargantuan dragons had taken the time to trot out paths where the littlest dragons wouldn't get lost. Bells rang from all corners of the dug-out, as the hatchlings and fae had dawned magically enhanced Jingle Bells. Silence was bad, annoying bells was a good sign. Little puff-ball Taffy had eventually made his way up to the wall of white, having been trimmed up to a warm but movable point by one of the fae. He let out bark-like chirps at it, completely confused by the new element that was exactly the opposite of what he was so used to. And then, out of nowhere, some of it attacked him. Never had the clan heard such a thoroughly vicious roar been heard from such a tiny thing. At least that's what he thought until the whole clan seemed to be laughing about something. Proudly he puffed out his chest and repeated the super scary call out at the field of white-cold. His fierce pose was stopped when his foster mom scooped him up and took him out to explore.

Ping me pretty please! I love seeing responses!
The rest of the dragons in the clan were very happy to stay in the cosy warmth provided by the Great Furnace. The rest of them preferred to sun themselves during the warmer months of summer and in winter they'd stay around their furnaces working and keeping warm at the same time. However, Chillmaw enjoyed the cool briskness of winter (as cool as a winter in the fiery realm could be) and loved to take flight out of the overheated lair. This morning as he left quietly as to not wake the others. He pulled on his travelling hood and as he came out to the mouth of the cave he saw some movement against the glowing background of lava in the distance. He sped up his exit and as soon as he went outside he saw the snowflakes slowly drifting from the clouds above. His usual stoic demeanour was non-existent as his joy at the snowfall showed clearly beneath his hood. His haste to see the snow did wake up other members of the lair though. "Awww Chillmaw, why are you making a racket out there?!" cried Yarrick, who had been curled up in a very comfortable nook until he was rudely awoken. His mate just grumbled and ignored him, his exuberance a common accourance and easily ignored when she wished. "You should come out and see the snow Yarrick! It's only light right now, but hopefully later it might get heavier and stick to some of the cooler rocks!" said Chillmaw. He was glad he had someone to talk about the snow with. It didn't often snow in the Ashfall Wastes as the surface lava kept the temperature of the region pretty high, even in winter. Not that that stopped complaints from the cold from the Fire members of the clan, thought Chillmaw. It was a joke between the non-Fire members who thought winter in the Ashfall Wastes could hardly be called winter at all. Yarrick had lived in the Ashfall Wastes all his life and could count the amount of times it had snowed on one paw. He quickly jumped over his mate and ran towards the lair entrance where Chillmaw was standing. "Wow, I didn't think it was going to snow this year! What are we waiting for Chillmaw? Let's go!" Yarrick said as he took off to the sky, not even stopping to wait for Chillmaw's response. Snow always felt funny on his wings and he didn't want to chance that the snow would stop falling as quickly as it started. Chillmaw just shook his head at his overexcitable friend and took off after him. He knew the rest of the lair would wake up their own time and that wasn't going to be any time soon so they wouldn't be missed. The rest of the clan could enjoy the snow in their own time and Chillmaw didn't want to have to wait a single second more. He took off and felt the melting moisture on his wing membrane. He may love his clan and his new home but there's just some parts of home that he missed and colder weather and snow was definitely one of them. He caught up to Yarrick and they both enjoyed the first few flakes of the season together.
The first snowfall of the year!
Alis awoke and stretched creakily, acting as a gentle alarm to the rest of the lair (or at least gentle to everyone who was not sleeping beside her, as her husband Val would point out). Dad? What why is there all this white stuff on the ground?" The couple looked at each other, Alis smirking and Val frowning, before making their way out of the lair. "I told you," Alis laughed as she saw the ground coated evenly in sparkly white, although the evenness was quickly being disturbed by Valentine's excited frolicking and other member's of the clan joining her. "I could feel it in my bones. That's how it works, you know. Bad bones, good at telling the weather. Bad husbands -" "Good at finding great second husbands," Val interrupted with a grin, earning him a huffy chuckle and nuzzle. "You ought to go back in, this weather can't be good for your braces, much less your bones." "Are you kidding?" Alis asked, "Nothing is good for my bones, and my braces need repair anyway. I haven't seen snow in what feels like years, I'm going to enjoy it!" And with that, she bounded off as best she could to join her daughter and the others. Val stood for a moment and grumbled, but after seeing the joy in his wife's eyes, the was nothing he could think to do but go out and join the fray. And start planning a romantic evening in front of a fire to warm her up with, later.

It was his favorite place to lay. At night he enjoyed watching lightning from the Tempest Spire fork across the sky. And there was nothing better than awakening in a pool of sunlight. It was early morning, most of the clan was still sound asleep with the exception of a handful of guards. Ridley shifted slightly in his sleep; his dream had taken a turn for the worse. He began struggling against some invisible force in his sleep, he looked as though he were in pain. Snow blanketed the Ashfall Waste native. He beat his wings furiously, trying to shake off the cold bite of the snow as he fled from the cavern. DoNotEat was a day old, and already knew very much about the world. He felt very worldly. His brother, Eat, was not so seasoned as he, and DoNotEat felt the need to protect him. "Mother is gone. The clan is gone. We are the only ones left. We have to run, now." DoNotEat had not looked further into the cave for their parents, or any of the clan, but he was sure he was right. He thrashed about, unable to find a way out of this new prison. He heard a crash as someone knocked over the table of food, and then a shattering as someone else broke something. Achievement Unlocked! Role Play Event!

It is early morning and your clan is peacefully asleep in their lair. Unbeknownst to your dragons, something has happened over the nightfall! When your lair awakes and rubs the sleep from their eyes, they notice that outside, a fresh blanket of snow has fallen upon the land! A beautiful white dusting sparkles the ground outside, waiting for someone to come explore it!

Please post your response to the prompt: The first snowfall of the year!

The little coatl poked her head outside her den for some early-morning fresh air. She blinked. Was that...?

She went back inside and got her glasses so she could confirm - yes, it was snow! Time for making snow-dragons and having flying snowball fights with some of her clan-mates.

And maybe sometime soon she would take a trip to a special neighboring clan to help them celebrate the winter season....

It was finally winter, and the snow had piled up outside their cove. The water hadn't frozen quite yet - it wasn't that cold - but the beach was already covered in white. She loved winter. Actually, she loved all the seasons. "It's so lovely outside. Aki, dear, come out and see!" She turned back into her home, trying to coax her reluctant mate into the wonderful atmosphere. Aki stuck his head out of his cove, grimacing at the snowflakes that fell on his nose. The white, sterile scenery was a nice change from the chaos of autumn, but he could do without the cold. "I don't see why you're so excited. This happens every year." He grumbled. "It's too cold to truly enjoy anything. I'd rather just watch from here. It's warm." He shook off what little snow had landed on him before retreating back into his workshop, but not without a parting remark. "If you're going to go out, please don't go into the water again." Fuyu sighed, but didn't argue. That he had poked his head out at all was a victory to be savored. Besides, she could see Celeste and Magni strarting to build snow dragons, and she wasn't about to miss that competition!

Fuyu gasped. It was finally winter, and the snow had piled up outside their cove. The water hadn't frozen quite yet - it wasn't that cold - but the beach was already covered in white. She loved winter.
Actually, she loved all the seasons.

"It's so lovely outside. Aki, dear, come out and see!"

She turned back into her home, trying to coax her reluctant mate into the wonderful atmosphere.

It's warm."

My mood is sour and as ugly as my scar.” “The Oracle in her wisdom and guidance would never allow that, your mood is sour but many others from the Icefields felt the same. Fractal entered Gloss’ rooms slowly, though seldom dark today they were totally devoid of light. Voltage, Gloss’ mate, had spoken of her depression but they, and the others in Chaos Lair were hopeful that the first snowfall of the season would bring Gloss back to her usual demeanor.

“Gloss, you must come outside.” Fractal peered into the room where her often annoying friend was curled up. “Sannur and Morrigan have teamed up against Arazetto and Sephira, even though there isn’t much it snowed last night. ”

Lifting her head slowly Gloss grabbed her mask. “I shall, but it will not do as you and the others think.” Forgoing her usual silks, she pulled on a bright blue sweater. “I’ve been here naught yet a year and it feels as though the rot has seeped into my soul.
