had to deal with some irl things and also lack of motivation to write, but now im feeling the groove again to write for our gang of unfortunate dragons! things do spice up soon, which is thrilling~

Aspen... Morning Sun... I never thought that their friendship could deteriorate so quickly. They had been butting heads ever since Aspen learnt the truth about his sister, but I didn't think it would go this far. His deep wish to get revenge on Tusk did worry Morning a lot, they wanted to just keep everyone safe, which honestly I agree with. However, for both of their [i]deaths[/i] to happen? It all came to a standstill when a sudden earthquake started up as we were walking. We all huddle together in the centre, avoiding the rocks that dislodged from the walls and came hurtling down at us. Cracks appeared in the ground beneath our feet, and I was starting to think we'd have to fly to get out of this situation. Turns out that it wasn't just any old earthquake. As the vibrations got strong enough to the point I had to stay low to the ground to stay upright, the largest skeletal wyrm I could ever imagine breached the surface. The earth split open to a bone-rattling screech like nails down a blackboard. Its whole head was larger than I am, its glowing green eyes piercing straight through me. For the short moment its head was above ground I felt a dreadful chill run up through my feet and all the way up my spine, freezing me solid. It dove back into the ground as easily as if it was water, kicking up a massive cloud of dust and rock that got into my eyes. While I was getting the dirt out of my eyes, I heard shouting from Morning. "Aspen!" I heard them cry out, but I didn't hear any responses. When I managed to crack open my eyes, I was bewildered to see their shadow running off into the dust cloud after what I could only assume was Aspen. Breathing in all of this dirt had hurt my lungs, and I could only hack up all of the dust I was breathing in. I could see more shadows around me, the other members of our group, but they were all crying out and quarreling about what was happening. I decided to take matters into my own hands. I lifted myself up into the skies. Using my magic to make my voice sound much louder, I told everyone to stay close together and to not lose sight of anyone. We stayed huddled together until the dust settled finally. High up on the canyon cliffs on a ledge I spotted two glowing red tails, two massive wings, and the two headed beast that is Tusk. It was looking down upon us, though I swear I saw the faintest hint of a smirk from it. It turned away and disappeared before anyone else spotted it. Morning Sun and Aspen were both gone. Two huge holes where the wyrm came through the ground was all that remained of it, along with the boulders that surrounded us. Nobody else was missing thankfully, but I'm lost now. The others look to me for guidance. i decided that for Aspen and Morning Sun it wouldn't make sense for their lives to save them from a duel for the title of royal, so it is an insta-death if there's any coups or fights for royalty.

I want everyone to stop moping around so much! Let's turn this around, stop thinking so much about the odd dragon following us. Honestly, this is a wondrous chance to discover something new and amazing that has never been observed before. This canyon has been roamed for many millennia, and although many archaeologists have already studied the ruins that should be a bit ahead of us, I've never read anything about skeletal wyrms being observed during an expedition. Even Leader has never witnessed anything like this, and our trip was mainly to make sure there was no one stranded down here. I mean, I guess that now it's swapped around, haha. Why did this wyrm awaken? Is it a powerful earth magic controlling it? Where did it come from? Where is it going? Why did it breach the surface? So many questions, and so little time. Its ghastly maw, screeching roar, I am just in utter awe of such a monster. I'm hoping we find some more later on... but I'm keeping that to myself. Royal and Leader both decided to take us towards the ruins now that we have our way back blocked yet again. Leader says that we may run into more dragons in that direction, and it'll also get us away from the wyrm. Royal is nervous, but is doing his best considering he lost two friends just yesterday. I have noticed Fox acting funny... he keeps looking at me. I tried talking to him, but he always makes an excuse, or Pistach interrupts and takes him away. No matter, I know he's all sappy with Pistach. well i didnt expect the two lovebirds to both become assassins [emoji=bogsneak confused size=2] and we're now on chapter 2.5! we are still continuing the same story that was going on from before, but because we reached the end of Aspen's journey (and Falcon's too) i felt it fitting to change the chapter number. dont worry, i have ideas for this chapter too... we're not going to be wandering around for too much longer [emoji=bogsneak winking size=2]
