I had planned to have us be camping outside closer to the great ravine that makes the breach, but Auntor stated that it doesn't make sense for us to sleep outside when there is a perfectly good town nearby. I wanted to keep up our pace to make it down by the next day, but Auntor did have a point. We could also keep an extra day's worth of supplies by staying here, which was the main argument that convinced me. No merchants will be down in the depths there, and any dragons we happen across would likely want to keep their own goods for themselves. Phedre wasn't too pleased with this, and I almost thought at one point that she'd leave us. Thankfully she's still here and sharpening her claws on a stone she found, but her temper is short with Auntor. I think that she might be doubting my abilities as leader, as she took charge in counting our supplies and checking our map when I had done so only an hour ago, but that might just be me worrying about my own status. I want to prove myself as capable. The whole reason I want to go down the Greatwyrm's Breach, down to the very depths, is to try and find my Charge. As a Guardian, I have been waiting for my call to the Search for years. My friends have all gone off for their own callings, and my family was concerned that I still felt no urge to go and look for it. It was only until a couple weeks ago when I was looking out across the desert and at the Pillar of the World that I felt a strong tug at the very core of my body to go and explore it. I never felt such an intense [i]want[/i] before in my life. My claws and wings were tingling to just run off and start flying then and there to the new land, my eyes glued to the Pillar in its stoic, lonely glory. Of course, not everyone can go to the Pillar. It is a place of worship for the Earthshaker, and not one meant for mere sightseeing. Once I saw a poor traveller who came all the way from the Viridian Labyrinth to see the Pillar, but the glares and stares he got quickly shut him down and forced him to return back to his lands out of shame. Second evening, we are now resting at an inn in Burrow. I had planned to have us be camping outside closer to the great ravine that makes the breach, but Auntor stated that it doesn't make sense for us to sleep outside when there is a perfectly good town nearby. I wanted to keep up our pace to make it down by the next day, but Auntor did have a point. We could also keep an extra day's worth of supplies by staying here, which was the main argument that convinced me. Considering that he was cheery and telling me about the mysteries of the clans that live within the great ravine, barely containing his excitement for the exploration ahead of us, I pressed Phedre about whether she knew anything again. I sensed an odd air about her, and she was impatient to get going. Something was off. That smug look upon her face when she told me that he wouldn't be returning truly told me what had happened. Now then, I didn't want to lose a member of our team as any and all hands are helpful on expeditions, but if Auntor had already left Burrow then I couldn't afford to lose Phedre to go searching for him. In the end, Phedre is more useful than him, but it leaves a sour taste in my mouth knowing that I left him alone. I didn't want to hang around Burrow for any new dragons either. The call to the Pillar demands that I keep travelling. We left Burrow and headed west to reach the canyon. Phedre is on thin ice.

I awoke and went to gather the other two so we could set off. Phedre I found hanging outside the inn, bags packed and waiting, but Auntor I couldn't find anywhere around. Phedre claimed she didn't know where he went. I asked the reception clerk, and they said that he left earlier that day without a word. Considering that dawn had just broken the skies, I was confused that he would have left already.

Perhaps here I'll forget about what happened, like a confession about what I have done to myself. Although I have made it down to the bottom of the ravine with the camp set up, I don't feel like I will rest easy tonight. I and Phedre were both scaling our way down the cliffside today, since the winds grew even stronger since last night. It was ripping at my fins and wings to the point I was worried I'd be picked up and lifted away to wherever it pleased. We didn't lose any supplies as we made sure to secure them tightly to ourselves before we started, and counting what I have left here none got away during the fight. Phedre... Phedre was ahead of me since she's far more nimble than I, and she came across a small nook in the side that held a single dragon egg. A Plague egg, to be exact. I haven't seen a dragon egg in many, many years. The last ones I saw were of my own little siblings', when ma was tending to them and I helped her with keeping our place in the Colonnades of Antiquity. I've never even seen another element's egg, so when Phedre was so casual pointing it out I almost thought she was joking about a funny rock. When I realised she was serious I was baffled when she simply continued on her way down to the next platform in the cliff. I took the egg with me, and had to talk with her about it. She was very firm about leaving it behind, and quickly became irritated at me for wanting to take it with me. Of course, I didn't want to leave it behind. It's precious, and won't survive out on a rocky canyon. I'm surprised it even managed to survive long enough for us to find it. Phedre, though, wasn't having it. This is a real, live egg we're talking about! However, she stated that any egg that we find should be left behind since it might have been purposefully left there, and the fact that it was a Plague egg meant that the hatchling inside should find its own way to survive. I refused, since it was going to die out there, and Phedre came at me to take the egg out of my claws. I didn't know what to do to make her change her mind, but I knew that I had to keep the egg with me. The boiling fury I felt within me for everything she had done, mocking Auntor and forcing him out of our group, trying to take over leadership, and now trying to abandon an egg to die. Now, though, I'd stop myself right then and there if I could go back in time. I shoved my shoulder into Phedre's side just to move her away from me, but it unbalanced her. Before I could grab her to steady her, a strong gust came by and caught her wings to drag her off the edge. Her screeches chilled my spine. Even now they ring in my ears, and all of their echoes across the canyon walls. The desperation in it, how it grew quieter as she plummeted down, the silence that came afterwards. It's silly, but I want Phedre to pop up out of nowhere to come sit by me to rest for the night, even with our differences. Then there wouldn't be this muffling silence all around me in the darkness of the canyon, save for this fire I have going. At least now I have the egg safely with me. The writing is shaky in this entry.

I have to remind myself that this is the journey I set myself upon. Perhaps here I'll forget about what happened, like a confession about what I have done to myself. Although I have made it down to the bottom of the ravine with the camp set up, I don't feel like I will rest easy tonight.

I and Phedre were both scaling our way down the cliffside today, since the winds grew even stronger since last night. It was ripping at my fins and wings to the point I was worried I'd be picked up and lifted away to wherever it pleased. We didn't lose any supplies as we made sure to secure them tightly to ourselves before we started, and counting what I have left here none got away during the fight.

Phedre... Phedre was ahead of me since she's far more nimble than I, and she came across a small nook in the side that held a single dragon egg. A Plague egg, to be exact.

I haven't seen a dragon egg in many, many years. The last ones I saw were of my own little siblings', when ma was tending to them and I helped her with keeping our place in the Colonnades of Antiquity. I've never even seen another element's egg, so when Phedre was so casual pointing it out I almost thought she was joking about a funny rock.

When I realised she was serious I was baffled when she simply continued on her way down to the next platform in the cliff. I took the egg with me, and had to talk with her about it. She was very firm about leaving it behind, and quickly became irritated at me for wanting to take it with me. Of course, I didn't want to leave it behind. It's precious, and won't survive out on a rocky canyon. I'm surprised it even managed to survive long enough for us to find it.

Phedre, though, wasn't having it. This is a real, live egg we're talking about! However, she stated that any egg that we find should be left behind since it might have been purposefully left there, and the fact that it was a Plague egg meant that the hatchling inside should find its own way to survive.

I refused, since it was going to die out there, and Phedre came at me to take the egg out of my claws. I didn't know what to do to make her change her mind, but I knew that I had to keep the egg with me. The boiling fury I felt within me for everything she had done, mocking Auntor and forcing him out of our group, trying to take over leadership, and now trying to abandon an egg to die. Now, though, I'd stop myself right then and there if I could go back in time.

I shoved my shoulder into Phedre's side just to move her away from me, but it unbalanced her. Before I could grab her to steady her, a strong gust came by and caught her wings to drag her off the edge.

Her screeches chilled my spine. Even now they ring in my ears, and all of their echoes across the canyon walls. The desperation in it, how it grew quieter as she plummeted down, the silence that came afterwards.

It's silly, but I want Phedre to pop up out of nowhere to come sit by me to rest for the night, even with our differences. Then there wouldn't be this muffling silence all around me in the darkness of the canyon, save for this fire I have going.

At least now I have the egg safely with me. I can see the embryo inside is moving once again.

Phedre now died thanks to those wonderful crits we all know and love. this is my first coli pull too! i think i have to accept that i am not good at coli with low level dragons [emoji=bogsneak deadpan size=2]
