About to enter my last year of college, pretty much gonna be on and off somewhat sporadically in the meantime. Lots of things to do, not enough hours in the day. I’m not leaving or anything, but my education comes first

Please be aware, I suffer from genetic chronic migraines that have recently decided to take a major turn for the worse (RIP fully fed den). So if I don't respond for a while, that's why. Depends on if I can actually look at a screen or not that day :(

Status: Currently working on grinding out hibden slots, got too much lore and too many dragons lol. Also training Thylasupial a coli team while I’m at it ^-^

Wishlist: Glowtail, Stained, Diamond (Abberation), Spade (Aberration), Polkadot (Aberration) genes, glowing eyes, and any and all holiday skins. Gimme all them skins lol

Breeding project(s): steel/hickory/antique Tundra and ivory/umber/umber Pearlcatcher

Disgruntled with the sheer hatred her birth clan held for the Plague Flight, Kahjah left the nest in the Everbloom Gardens she'd grown up in and took flight to start a clan of her own. She found a beautiful grove in the Gladeveins, and began constructing her lair. Basil came upon her in his wanderings and was impressed, and offered to lend a claw. This was the birth of the Thornspeaker clan. A clan that welcomes dragons from any flight in search of a new home, whether they be adults, hatchlings, or even unhatched eggs.

Unfortunately, their peace was not to last. During a particularly vicious fight for dominance, the clans of the nature flight became ultra paranoid, and many accusations of treason and betrayal were thrown around. Several nature clans with more flight-tolerant dispositions were driven out or worse from these mobs, and the Thornspeakers were no different. Accusations of supporting the plague flight in secret and mob mentality saw them driven from their lair like the rest. The Thornspeakers were just barely able to grab their eggs and hibernating brethren before fleeing; and to their dismay, they were chased out of the Viridian Labyrinth entirely, their pursuers only turning back once the Thornspeakers were on earth flight territory.

Not wanting to give any sort of credence to the slanderous rumors of them betraying their flight to plague, the Thornspeakers didn’t journey to the Scarred Wasteland to seek aid from their sister clan the Ticks, and instead began looking for a place to live within Dragonhome. As they still considered themselves nature dragons, they traveled under the cover of darkness, and avoided any and all dragons they came across in their wanderings. Finally, they reached the Greatwyrm’s Breach, where, to Tairin’s shock, he heard the whispers of nature magic.

Following the Tundra, the clan descended into the great ravine, and into the depths of the cavernous network of caves within. Eventually, they came to a cave where a soft light glowed, gleaming off of multitudes of precious stones embedded in the rocky walls, revealing a few small jungle trees clearly native to the Viridian Labyrinth. How in the Glade- no, the Earthshaker’s name they ended up here, the clan had no idea, but this was perfect.

(At least until they stumbled upon the seal of an ancient, slumbering Emperor, but beggars can't be choosers right?)

Many bioluminescent plants grew here, and with their nature magic, the Thornspeakers rapidly expanded the jungle, growing it from that tiny grove in the center of a gargantuan cavern to a multi-cavern-spanning expanse of underground greenery. They even imported a few cuttings of the great thorny brambles from the Tangled Wood, and grew those among the jungle flora as well. Many animals from the Rainsong Jungle and Blooming Grove, as well as a variety of fireflies, were caught and released into the caverns; the finishing touch to their new home.

The no longer displaced clan called their sanctuary the Everdark Jungle. Dens of all kinds littered the initial grove, where the Thornspeakers had set up their lair. From burrows to tree hollows to houses on both the ground, the walls, and in the trees, every dragon has a home that suits them. And it was here that the displaced refugees found their new home.

Even after everything, the Thornspeaker clan has still remained a place where all dragons can find a home. That has never changed, even if the location of the Everdark Jungle is kept a closely guarded secret from other clans, just in case. Better safe than sorry after everything they’ve been through, though that policy has inadvertently increased the whispering rumors already present of an underground forest hidden deep within the Greatwyrm Breach throughout Dragonhome - of a cavernous wilderness holding secrets and treasures of all kinds, where forgotten and/or forbidden knowledge waits to be unearthed. These legends have become greatly exaggerated, as is their wont, transitioning from a small secret grove to a full-fledged, treasure-filled wilderness even before the Thornspeakers took up residence, but the kernel of truth still remains.

It’s easy to tell who was born before or after the exodus; those hatched with the green eyes of nature were born in the Gladeveins, while those born with the brown eyes of earth were hatched within the Everdark Jungle.

As for the Ticks, the Thornspeaker clan has hardly abandoned all contact with them. Now that the heat’s died down, they continue to visit, and it remains a common occurrence for dragons from both clans to decide to live in the other, and even breed across flight lines. When - not if - this happens, the Thornspeakers and Ticks will split the clutch of such unions. As dragons from both clans visit each other all the time, it doesn't really cause much of a problem.

And, in the very center of the lair, next to the tunnel leading to the hibernal den...are where the eggs lie. Whether it’s the rocky eggs nestled against the roots of towering trees or hibernating dragons slumbering away on the mossy carpet within a cool stone burrow, the clan keeps the most vulnerable of their members safely within the center of their lair, protected from anything that means to do them harm.
