[b]Introduction:[/b] This is a bottleneck project. Breed 32 unrelated dragons => 16 => 8 => 4 => 2 => 1 final heir. Highlander-style. There can be only one. I don’t actually care if there’s only one, though. I’m keeping a lot of the progenitors, and I’ll sell the non-heir progeny if somebody wants them. This is not, in fact, the Quickening. But most of the spares will be exalted so it’s a bit like the Quickening... [b]Background:[/b] I got really attached to the first dragons I bought. Really attached. They’re just cheap fodder, but I worked really hard to get them all gened just so. Unfortunately, my tastes have changed, and some of them are simply unworkable now. I am too attached to exalt them. But I want lair space. Alas. So, to honor them and free myself of this false obligation, I am creating a single heir of the entire clan. You know, get everybody together and have a baby. Just something fun to do with 19 friends and 12 strangers on the weekend (I’ve only got 20 genetically distinct moderns, so I had to pick up a bit of fodder to fill out the roster). Once this is all done, hopefully, I won’t feel too bad about clearing out some space. [b]Procedure:[/b] [LIST=1] [*]Purchase 12 cheap fodder to fill out 16 pairs. I’m going to exalt them, but they should at least have genes that I don’t hate. Pick up some breeds not currently represented in my clan, see what happens? [*]Make 16 pairs from 32 progenitors. I’m keeping rarity roughly equal in the first generation so I’m less likely to be overrun by plentiful breeds. Also pairing breeds I don’t like together so I can weed them out quickly. [*]Finishing all my gene projects. No basic terts! Except my custom progen, I’ll just gene her kid before the next round of nests. Gray is ew. [*]Breed each pair once. Re-breed if sex ratio is off, otherwise accept what the RNG provides. [*]Construct subsequent pairs based on what I like best - this project need not be entirely random. Pair strategically for breed and gene rarity. Continue until I reach the inevitable conclusion. [/LIST] [emoji=coatl winking size=1] We are finished! I got tired of waiting on Baldwin, and I only have so many nests, so we're going to work on steps 3 and 4 simultaneously for a while.

Starting off with my custom progen and her Johnny-come-lately partner in Pair 3: Dream of Large Women pt1, who (rather spitefully) gave me 2 eggs. I see red-brown jaguar/rosette in my future.

Also nesting two of my favorite permas in Pair 10: BogsOnly[dot]com, with a much more respectable 4 eggs. Almost definitely going to be poison/toxin/capsule in terrible, garish color combos.
