This is going on hiatus for a bit. I'll be putting the items I get in my "missed day items" post, and posting everything once I resume this.
Endless Tides
The flood.
The flood had taken everyone.
It had snatched up every dragon's soul in it's inescapable talons, dragging them under and sweeping them away.
The seemingly only survivors of this disaster, Tamesin, Tierra, and Hurricane, seek to put exploration in their claws, and eventually resettle... However, the wind and waves aren't always calm. Not to mention the tales of the creatures who lurk in the depths...
Or, in which Lapis wanted to start a pinkerlocke and was too impatient to come up with a good foundation for the plot and only had rough concepts when starting out.
This will likely be somewhat chaotic and all over the place.
Note: this pinkerlocke's origin is tied into some of permadragon's lore (x, x, x) - at some point I may incorporate these dragons into the pinkerlocke through writing and art, though not into the actual pinkerlocke. If I ever do, I'll do my best to introduce them, though It'll likely take a while - if you ever see any of these dragons mentioned seemingly without any explanation, I'll explain it later!
I've never done a pinkerlocke before, input and suggestions are appreciated!
While this is a personal challenge, I don't mind if you post in this thread, even if it's just to say hi! I have arrows on the top of each post which link to the last and next day, so don't worry about keeping things from being organized if you post here c:
You can find the Pinkerlocke thread here, and the original nuzlocke thread here.
I'm going to be using random.org for everything that needs to be randomized.

Rules
[rule]
The rules will be nearly identical to the rules Tar wrote, however I have changed things slightly. For convenience, changes I've made will be marked in blue.
Overall, this challenge is for my own enjoyment. I'm not looking to be very hard on myself like the original nuzlocke rules, nor am I looking to exalt many dragons. Once this is over I hope to keep the majority of the dragons I have obtained during this quest, so I'll be focusing more on dragons I like rather than the cheapest. I might skirt around rules if I feel like it.
I'm going to try to make it not too easy (it is a challenge, after all!), but the point for me is too have fun and to be able to be happy with what I've managed once it's over.
I'll likely end up skipping days, on purpose or not. The story, if I make one, will ignore these timeskips and resume as normal.

This challenge is inspired by noodlesthing's nuzlocke challenge.
Basic rules:

A death in the coliseum = that dragon must be exalted. This is the most essential rule of a nuzlocke. However, I get attached to pixels far too easily, so instead of exalting I will most likely be moving "dead" dragons to a different tab or to my hibernal den.

[s]All[/s] most loot obtained in the coliseum is irrelevant, as is the loot obtained from gathering. If I somehow am lucky enough to find an unhatched egg, I will hatch it and add it to the pinkerlocke, flipping a coin to see if they survive (see apparel rules). If I find a familiar or apparel piece I might incorporate it somehow.

There are no restrictions about applying apparel to your dragons. Do whatever makes sense to you. Same goes for familiars.

Ping or message me if you take the challenge ;p (you don't actually /have/ to but I'd love to see how it goes!)

And, most crucially, all nuzlocke activity corresponds with the loot you obtain daily from Pinkerton's plundered pile!
Optional sentimental rule:
If a dragon reaches level 25 it "retires". It can join the ranks of your main lair.
Ignoring this rule for now, as when I decide to put this challenge to a halt I plan move all the dragons I've sentimental about into my main lair regardless of level, but I might change my mind in the future. If I find that having a level 25 dragon is too overpowered (if I end up with one in the first place hjgfhdkj), then I might re-implement this rule in some form.
Drops of Fate:
Food: Coliseum time!

Plants: 10-20 matches
Insects: 20-30 matches
Seafood: 30-40 matches
Meat: 40-50 matches

Choose from one of these two rules:
Hardmode: You must select coliseum challengers in your lair using a random number generator. Then, select the coliseum arena that corresponds to the highest level dragon of that group (For a 'medium' mode, select the venue that is one tier down from that of highest level dragon). If your dragons level up while in an area, you can still stay there for the whole day. You can quit your battle streak at any time to regen health, and flee from battles if it is appropriate. Don't try do 50 matches in a row unless you want a wiped-out dragon!
OR
Easymode: Choose whichever team and venue you want and go for it. Running from battles, using health pots, and ending the battle streak is fine, as I explained above.
Difficulty level subject to change. Currently I'm using a sort of medium-level mixed difficulty, functioning almost exactly like the hard mode difficulty, but I roll for two dragons and I get to pick the other one. I can use any venue I'd like to.
(These ranges can also be altered to suit your level of activity/personal preference.)
Materials and trinkets: Flex your creative muscles!
Note that there is currently a glitch in which Pinkerton mislabels materials as trinkets. If you obtain a "trinket" from Pinkerton, double check to make sure its not actually a material!
Materials and Trinkets: Do some writing for your nuzlocke. How does your new nuzlocke clan change and develop? What are your dragons like personality-wise? How do they get along? How do they die? Is there an antagonist in this nuzlocke, or are they merely struggling against the forces of nature? Write dragon bios! Make a blog, or a thread for your challenge in the creative forums! Write short stories or paragraphs, or add to one big one adventure! And/or, do some art for your nuzlocke! Digital or traditional, use whatever medium feels best for you. Draw deaths. Draw dragons. Draw humanized versions of your dragons (if that's your sort of thing). Draw familiars and dragons together. It doesn't have to be that good or elaborate. If you make a nuzlocke thread, post your art there.
Obviously, you might not have time in your day to do something creative. If that's the case, don't worry about it. This challenge is meant to be fun [s]and heartwrenching[/s], not a chore.
I might change this in the future. If I want to come up with my own rule I'll likely have trinket drops initiate it.
[s]Rare drops: Wildcards[/s] Unsure what this means, so I'm ignoring it for the time being.
Familiars: Buy the cheapest dragon in the auction house of a specific breed. Use a random number generator (between 1-14) to determine which breed you will get! (Optionally: attach the familiar to the new dragon.)
As I suspect a cheap dragon will catch my eye that isn't the cheapest but is cheap enough to be on the first page, I might not buy the cheapest dragon, but rather one on the first page. This is mainly and simply for my own comfort, I don't think it'll matter much (I'm willing to pay a bit extra for pretty dragons). Additionally, I'll sort for both treasure and gem listings separately, so that means I'll have a total of 20 dragons to choose from (might reduce this number in the future).
I also won't buy any dragon with a basic gene, though I may make exceptions.
1. Fae
2. Guardian
3. Mirror
4. Pearlcatcher
[s]5. Ridgeback[/s] I don't like ridgebacks, so for this challenge I'm essentially pretending they don't exist. If I roll a 5, I'll reroll.
6. Tundra
7. Spiral
8. Imperial
9. Snapper I don't like snappers very much, so, flip a coin - if heads, proceed as normal and buy a snapper. If tails, reroll.
10. Wildclaw
11. Nocturne
12. Coatl
13. Skydancer
14. Bogsneak I don't like bogsneaks very much, so, flip a coin - if heads, proceed as normal and buy a bogsneak. If tails, reroll.
For the sake of lair space, If I happen to roll for a dragon that I have a level one of, I might choose to instead integrate that dragon into the pinkerlocke instead of buying an entirely new one.
Apparel: Breed two of your dragons. The dragons you pick are up to you. You can also change one of the genes on a dragon, or use a scatterscroll if you are rich and crazy.
Note: You must flip a coin for each hatchling once they hatch. If tails, the dragon is dead and you must exalt it. This is in keeping with the original Nuzlocke thread's rule, because I really like it.
I plan to follow this rule, however, if I hatch a "dead" dragon that I really like, I might replace that hatchling with an alive one (acting like I landed heads on the dragon I liked and tails on one I initially landed heads for), or just shuffle the "dead' dragon away into my main lair and act like it wasn't at all part of this challenge. Probably the latter, though like many other rules I've made this is subject to change.
If it is impossible for me to breed any dragons at the moment (eg. all of them are on breeding cool-downs, I don't have any nesting ground spaces), I'll list the item here, wait until the next possible day I can do so, and then remove the item from the list.
Battle items: Uh-oh!!!
Flip a coin.
Heads = DEATH STREAK
Tails = Nothing happens
DEATH STREAK rules: Randomly select three dragons using a random number generator. Fight in the coliseum using the "food" rules 10 rounds consecutively (ie. you cannot leave that arena), quitting midway if a dragon dies. If you are using the easymode rules, switch to the hardmode rules for battlestones.
[s](Note that the 'death streak' needs to be tested for deadliness. It should be pretty deadly, but not totally impossible.)[/s] After testing, it seemed to work as intended! Survival depends on your willingness to be both lucky and cautious.
Starting out:
Using the method I detailed in the "familiar" possibility above, obtain a small number of dragons (I suggest 2 or 3). If they already have names, keep the name! If not, name them whatever you like. The challenge starts once all of the dragons, if they are hatchlings, grow into adulthood.
Alternatively, choose 2-3 existing dragons in your lair to participate. This has certain advantages (eliminates the need to wait for maturity and breeding cooldowns) but also some disadvantages (less random=less exciting).
You may want to "partition" your nuzlocke dragons away from your regular dragons so you don't get them mixed up.
Losing:
If your dragon count falls to zero you have a few options
1. Declare the challenge a "loss" and give up
2. Wait for Pinkerton to drop a familiar
3. Just say "welp" and buy another dragon from the AH without waiting for Pinkerton because you lack patience.
If all my dragons "die", then I might pick one of the options above, or if I'm really invested in the story I've created then I might create some sort of workaround through the writing, essentially "reviving" the dragons. Though, this might be overpowered and will likely make it difficult to pace myself, so this probably won't happen... (I'll just restart with new dragons, maybe the old dragons can serve as mentors to the new ones or something)
Additional notes:
[s]I haven't yet tried this challenge for myself, so I don't know how well it will work. I have no idea how difficult/easy this will be yet.[/s]
I am doing the challenge and so I have some sage wisdom:

Stock up on potions. Seriously.

Note my suggested revised coliseum rule. My original rule makes the challenge quite difficult, particularly when low leveled dragons are paired with high level ones. You definitely have to use a lot of health potions using the hard rule. However, the rate of familiar drops from pinkerton is also relatively high, so replacing dead dragons is fairly straightforward. Or maybe I'm just getting lucky.

Using only one dragon in the coliseum is HARD. Don't be shy about running away!

Heads = DEATH STREAK
Tails = Nothing happens
(Note that the 'death streak' needs to be tested for deadliness. It should be pretty deadly, but not totally impossible.) After testing, it seemed to work as intended!
Additional notes: I haven't yet tried this challenge for myself, so I don't know how well it will work. I have no idea how difficult/easy this will be yet.

I had to use quite a few potions, and I accidently quit halfway through so the exp gain is a bit off hjkhdghf (though the health I regained barely made a difference as I had used some potions just before, I don't think it made the difference between life and death). It didn't go as badly as I thought it might, thankfully!
At one point Tierra almost died - she was slightly low on health already, and three enemies attacked her one after the other - which was a bit terrifying.

Tierra nearly died -again- due to some unexpected brave sphinxes attacking her in succession when her health was already somewhat low. I forgot that warrior's way was going on hjfjjhgkj

Battle items: Uh-oh!!!
Flip a coin.
Heads = DEATH STREAK
Tails = Nothing happens
(Note that the 'death streak' needs to be tested for deadliness. It should be pretty deadly, but not totally impossible.) After testing, it seemed to work as intended! Survival depends on your willingness to be both lucky and cautious.

While the group was preparing to settle down for the night, Hurricane spotted something in the sand, and promptly dug it up, discovering a pair of slightly worn-down mitts. They were too big to fit the fae, and Tierra already had a pair of gloves - so, he offered them to Tamesin, who was surprised at the gift, but took it gratefully. Tamesin didn't really seem to know how to respond, but was obviously very thankful.

In other news, along their travels, Tamesin and Tierra have grown a lot closer - enough that they had fallen in love with each other. The group had been able to fend off the enemies they had encountered previously with relative luck and ease, so the two felt safe enough to bring up a nest.
