Notes:
  • Despite his small stature, Carnelian is incredibly fierce, and won't hesitate to cause a fight. Rythiko often has to keep him in check.
  • At first glance, Carnelian's pattern can give him the appearance of being bloodstained. The bandages he often has to wear doesn't help... Many dragons avoid him due to this bad first impression.
  • Solstice's guard. Hailing from a clan with no room left for the him, Solstice adopted Carnelian when nobody else would, and ever since then Carnelian has been overprotective towards the Imperial. This protectiveness and caution only grew since the flood, and Carnelian insisted on staying with Solstice at all times, never wanting his life to be risked again.
  • Although he acts all big and intimidating, he tires quite easily. Almost always after trying to defend his companions or a few hours before dusk, he'll enter a sort of dazed state, in which he'll be much more submissive. He often rides on Solstice's head, back, tail, or in his bag - he acts grumpy about it and like he only does it because he's too exhausted to argue, but he secretly enjoys it, which both Solstice and Rythiko know (but don't say anything about).
  • Farsighted.

He strikes me as some sort of doctor, an overworked one perhaps? But not enough to have been driven mad by it. He's not one to show many emotions and despite his size, can sometimes come off as intimidating because of his fashion choice. I think he might need a break from whatever he might be doing.

Carnelian’s contrasting colors in those genes are super on point. I LOVE this dragon. Just the overall aesthetics of him please me so much I didn’t even realize he was wearing bloody bandages (which I typically don’t like) until I saw his bio. Knowing they’re there now? Still so aesthetically pleasing. That hood and glasses are what really makes the whole thing for me, I think. Not by themselves, for sure, the hood just seals the sharp contrast lines in all the colors at the dragons body. And somehow the glasses work even though he is full of fite. Also overprotective of his charge, a MUCH BIGGER imperial is full of <3. Sanguine thylacine on a male fae with garnet paint and piebald is apparently some contrasty loveliness I hadn’t expected.
