"Ladies and gentlesirs, it's time for what you've all come to see. That's right, here for a limited time only, live and in person.....Preeeesenting...the great...Starboy! Er...wait, the great ArtStar...yes, the great ArtStar!"
After a moment of shuffling as he shifted from announcer to performer, Artie bounded out from behind the well-worn curtain he had been crouched behind. After a few dazzling flaps of his wings, he stood in a tada on his front legs. It was at this point that he chanced his first look at his audience. One was dozing lightly, but two of them looked at him with rapt attention.
"What do you think? ArtStar? Starboy? Which resonates?" Artie asked them, still in his pawstand. In answer, one of the little ones rose and leaped clumsily to scramble atop Artie. Unprepared for the additional burden, the big tundra fell as carefully as he could, landing with an oomph, waking the dozing hatchling. All three little ones took the opportunity to climb on and terrorize their father, batting at him and chewing at his mane.
"Little heathens," Mirsa laughed, watching from nearby. "Where'd they learn such tricks?"
"I let them watch the balancing act yesterday," Artie admitted sheepishly. "They really liked that last bit, the great pyramid part? And it looks like
I'm the pyramid today!" As he said this, he rose to his feet, all three of his children clinging to his fur and laughing excitedly. "Alright, show mama, like we practiced!" He nudged one of the hatchlings gently, who then attempted to clamber atop the other two. There came a bit of a scuffle as each of the children tried to climb the others with no discernable structure.
"Did you explain to them that they have to decide who stands on who?" Mirsa asked when she had her giggles under control at the spectacle. "Although, it's a decent clowning gambit, I'll admit." The hatchling who had managed to secure the top spot suddenly tumbled, landing on Artie's swiftly outstretched wing and bouncing gently to the ground.
"It's all being workshopped," Artie said as he fended off a sudden three pronged hatchling assault, "it'll be ready next spring, I'm sure of it."
