I honestly am lazy and don’t wanna read can someone explain the lore to me in a nutshell

creatures be fightin'

the elements turn into lizards
the lizards beat each other up so hard they spawn more lizards
the new lizards beat up the old lizards so hard they spawn an eldritch entity\
the lizards beat up the entity and seal themself in a rock
people exist
people annihilate themselves by summoning magic lizard
which summons dead lizard and alive lizard
the old lizards come back
dragons

Chapter 1: The First Age

The deities of the elements are born. They find a rock but don´t vibe, que fight.
Fighting spawn more elemental deities. They also don´t vibe and fight.
Then they get vibe checked by Bad Vibes and they say oopise.
They build a tower of Good Vibes and go to sleep,

Chapter 2: The Second Age

Life exploded from each primordial puddle
Civilization grows
They dont vibe, But then they do vibe
Then they try to make a energy generator, but, uh oh, its a bomb now
Its actually so good at being a bomb the Arcanist is born

Chapter 3: The Third Age

The Arcanist goes sightseeing while the sister, Gladekeeper and Plaguebringer, are born and don´t vibe. At all.
Arcanist climbs the tower of Good vibes and accidentally summons the Bad Vibes.
The tower of Good Vibes crumble and all the gods awaken. They don´t vibe and go make their pillow forts.

Epilogue: Flight Rising

Hey, Imagine Dragons!

To this day the funniest part about the flight rising lore is how humans Did evolve and Exist in the world, only to blow themselves up.
It still gets me. Like you learn about their relationship with magic, their society, get a small glimpse into how they adored the World Pillar, learn about historical events. But at the end its like “oh and they blew themselves up lmao”.

Human’s only relevant role in flight rising is just as a set up for the Arcanist (and some old ruins yadda yadda i know). Tbh that arguably makes the Arcanist the closest remnants to humans we have in Sornieth. He is the closest living link there is… He really is the embodiment of humans messing around and finding out.

Actually same with Plaguebringer and Gladekeeper huh. Humans are indirectly responsible for their creation too thanks to their ooopsie dooopsie nuclear bomb fallout.




We are entering ramble territory here but I always see the nature flight as also the embodiment of invasive and unsustaining growth. Invasive species, introduced weeds drowning out the local floral, painfullu keeping something alive that should have perished long ago. Given human’s constant role in introducing invasive species it tracks that Gladekeeper is also kinda one of the remaining legacies of humanity

1st age
The og 4 deities (earthshaker, flamecaller, windsinger, and tidelord) come into existence but start fighting.

From their fighting more deities are born (shadowbinder, icewarden, stormcatcher, lightweaver)

Then the Shade shows up, they band together to defeat it.

The deities make a pillar to protect the world from the Shade and rest within it


2nd age

Life develops and so do civilizations
They fight/have peace

These 2nd agers are only known to be humanoid they aren't necessarily humans as staff has themselves said!
(Many users call them humans however and ofc you're free to hc that yourself)

They make a reactor and it explodes, creating the arcanist and wiping out the humanoids

3rd age

Plaguebring and Gladekeeper are born and fighting

Arcanists wakes up from his birth and goes to explore

The arcanist clumbs the pillar and summons the Shade out of curiosity.

The pillar breaks and the deities go their separate ways


present day

We have dragons






There's a lot of lore for the present (BotE lore)
And ancients get stories upon their intro to the site that expands some lore too
These stories aren't long so I do think they're worth a read!

Basically a bunch of dragon gods make the dragon breeds we have, they start fighting over what the world should look like cause they have different political opinions on culture.

The world ends twice, and they still fight like children today and we are forced to be part of it. The end lol

chapter 1:

the world comes out of the void

4 dragons become the literal embodiments of the elements

they make world

they get angy because each one wants the planet to be the way THEY want it; tidelord wants to make the planet a giant ocean, windsinger wants it to be windy 24/7, earthshaker wants it to be with lots of earth n' stuff... and flamecaller wants the place to be a volcanic wasteland.

Arguing ensues even though they could have just divided up the land and everyone would rule a separate territory and then they start trying to kill each other.

War happens.

The Icewarden, the Lightweaver, the Shadowbinder, and the Stormcatcher come about as a result of the fighting.

The planet's almost ruined.

Suddenly, an eldritch evil force of evil comes and tries to destroy everything, and they all unite and fight back against the shade

they eventually fight it back, make a tower, and seal themselves within it

chapter 2:

humans come into existence

...and then they make a magical reactor thing, it explodes, and everything dies. including the humans.

chapter 3:

so, when the magical reactor thing exploded, the arcanist came into existence. he then explored the remains, and eventually locked himself in an observatory and started observing the stars

meanwhile, the gladekeeper and the plaguebringer come into existence and they hate each other, so they start trying to kill each other.

the arcanist sees the shade and he's curious

so he comes out of the observatory and goes to the tower, and climbs it

so you see, the tower provided a shield that protected the world from the eldritch force of evil

and the arcanist destroyed it

and the shade came back and destroyed the tower...

...breaking the seal, and making the elemental dragons come out

and so, they claimed territory like they should have done in the beginning
