These 2 worlds... Were Sornieth and Feria. These 2 worlds... formed in almost the same exact way, something brought out of darkness and chaos. Although Feria's beginnings were distinct from Sornieth's. And both worlds shared a common enemy: The Shade. The Shade, a sadistic force of evil hellbent on destroying and corrupting every world it can. An eldritch force of evil that no one, not the dragons of Sornieth, nor the creatures of Feria can even comprehend. A force that neither the Sorniethians nor the Ferians... could drive back. For years, there was a city. A city in which the barriers between the worlds met and simply slipped away. In which Sorniethians could cross over into Feria... And Ferians could cross over into Sornieth. This city... was known as... [i]Laputa.[/i] A place where both Sorniethians and Ferians could intermingle with one another. A place where creatures from 2 worlds lived together. A place where the barrier between the 2 worlds ran thin. A place in which Sorniethians could cross over to Feria... And Ferians could cross over into Sornieth. That was, until the Shattering. When it all fell apart. Feria began to chip apart from its very heart. Cracks wove through the reality of Feria. The Shade wove in between these cracks, furthering the damage done to the suffering world. They shattered apart. Shards of the world the Ferians had once known were cracking. And with the Shattering, the portal to Feria collapsed. And Feria was no more. And both Feria and Sornieth had suffered greatly. The damage done has still not healed... And many were lost in the Shattering. And even more were stranded in Sornieth. How will the Sorniethians react to this new development...? The Coliseum and every other venue there doesn't exist. Venues aren't a thing. Level 25s aren't a thing either. However, certain characters who know the true nature of Sornieth may refer to these things. Little do the Laputans know... [b]these characters are right... in a way.[/b] The features may not exist in Sornieth, but they certainly do on Flight Rising. - Naomi exists. She's just been banished... somewhere. Naomi is an Unprocessable Entity, one whose very presence breaks the world's code all around her. She's a glitch. Her descendants, some are Unprocessable Entities... some aren't. Although Naomi's Descendants do have a natural affinity for technology, programming, and other such things. - Naomi's Unprocessable Entity nature has nothing to do with the Shade. In fact, nobody except her exactly knows why she exists... and Naomi's been banished, to who knows where? - The Shade is a sadistic eldritch abomination/force. Nobody knows how exactly it came into existence, but it sure is [b]sadistic.[/b] It loves to torture creatures. It could just kill them, but to the Shade, it's much more fun to see said creatures suffer. - No, the Shade does not feed off of despair. - There's [i]something[/i] or [i]someone[/i] in the Shade. Something controlling it. Something that operates behind its every move. Nobody exactly knows who this somebody is, but they do exist. - The Shade operates by killing or corrupting everything around it. It basically either destroys magic that can't be corrupted and assimilated into the Shade, or corrupts magic and assimilates it. It does likewise with everything else it comes across. If it can't be corrupted, it's destroyed. Or killed. Dragons included. - Cinders/Fallen is the result of the Shade corrupting creatures. Cinders is what the Ferians call these poor creatures, while the Sorniethians call them the Fallen. Either way, they exist as nothing more than to further the Shade's purpose, now. - Shade-touched dragons... are simply dragons touched by the Shade. Sometimes, it could be slowly absorbing the dragon into the Shade, while other times, the Shade does this to torture dragons. - It's possible to have control of more than one element. It isn't very clear how or why this happens... but it happens. - Sornieth has an effect on travellers from other worlds. It forces them into draconic bodies, while some keep their powers... some don't. Although the effects usually end up breaking the rules of Sornieth, and that usually leads to... strange things happening. - Canon dragon sizes are not a thing here. Why? I find it silly that Imperials are giants while veilspuns... are tiny??? My mind's eye can't wrap itself around that fact. And it creates the lore. So therefore, dragons are pretty much exactly the same size. And no, there is no lore reason because I'M TOO LAZY FOR SUCH THINGS. - There are 14 elements. In the absence of dragons, the wildlife has been left to thrive here. The island's volatile weather and magic have mutated the local flora and fauna. The trees on the Surface look like they've come out of the Starwood Strand. The grass has an odd iridescent quality to it. And crystals grow out of the ground. It's a city well-known for the amount of crystals it has, as well as the various govermental offices that sprawl here. This is where the wealthy merchants, as well as the goverment, live. It's where a majority of the population lives. It's arguably the best place to go if you're ever on vacation. Merchants from both Sornieth and Feriea bring their wares here. The hotels here are excellent. The food here is excellent. Crypstei is where many of Laputa's landmarks are. The population is quite tight-knit. Inhabitants of the Chained Planes frequently build into the cliffs of the main island, reinforcing their lairs with magic. It's much windier out here than it is in the underground cities. The Chained Planes are a popular choice of real estate with the more daring members of the clan... This is the result of many months worth of exposure to the arcane magics that surround Laputa.
