Oh! I forgot to mention how touched I was to see Lucus still adoring his beloved Queen. A love and loss that will last a lifetime

Edit: Like I said, I reread quite a bit and am so impressed with the idea of sacrificing Valoria's old capitol and their Lord Ladarius awaiting his people at their new home

I am unabashedly a romantic. So when it was getting close for Aurora’s breeding cooldown to pass, I was weighing her options. She actually has very limited options in Excelsior. Lucus is her father by adoption, so that makes Gallerian and Tristan her brothers. Kai was Aptorian’s mate and already nesting. So that left Brohl or looking outside of Excelsior proper.

As funny as it would be if Aurora whisked Sir Benedictur’Luna away, it wouldn’t be as powerful narratively speaking. So, I wondered, what about Therakyss? Aurora is the Overzealous Queen, meaning she will often take an action and ramp it up to 11. As beautiful as Brohl and Aurora’s hatchlings would be, there was so much more lore that could be built with Therakyss.

That single egg is the cherry on top. I was so happy to see that little egg.

I love the challenge of building these characters. Prince Fredrick is so different from what I would normally write. He was honestly forgettable to me too, so when you gave voice to it I decided to run with it.

Valoria has been on cruise control for a while so I think Queen Raisa coming in with an unorthodox solution was fantastic.

Of course it’s a single egg lol let’s hope it’s. A good one XD

I think it’ll be a good one. ^^ Therakyss and Aurora had pretty good potential offspring.

It’ll be Therakyss’s first hatched so I’ll keep it regardless.

I just looked at them in the hatchling preview if they ever breed again I’m rooting for ice or moon primary XD I quite like them

The remnants of the invading rat beasts had gathered under new rat kings. The malicious force that drove these vermin was relentless and it was obvious to the dragons of Excelsior that a specific outcome was desired by the enemy. They could not allow such evil to continue. Queen Aurora was weak and unable to leave her nest, not that she would even dream to expose her single egg to the dangers that lurked outside her royal chambers. It was Lucus's time to shine. He organized the adults of Excelsior, sans Aurora and Aptorian, and attacked the rats before they could get a proper foothold. It was a ferocious fight, but thankfully Excelsior came out of it victorious. It is pretty hard to resurrect an army of rats that had been crushed under a mountain, even for the Death God Noctis'Timore. So, in his scheming mind, there was only one thing to do. The Valorians worked hard and fast to build an adequate roof. They were now focused on repairing the interior to make it more habitable and respectable for a God to dwell. Little Orion was inside, cheering on the adult mortals. Lord Ladarius stood outside the grand threshold, the stars filled his eyes. He could see his foe coming fast, like a dark storm. Plants withered, beasts suffocated under the aura of death. Even from this far distance, Lord Ladarius could feel the dark one's power trying to drain away his strength. Lord Ladarius's rich, powerful voice caught the attention of the mortals inside the temple. "So you've come to challenge me at last... I'm not the same whelp that was defeated by your son all those years ago... Noctis'Timore!" The dark one stood before Ladarius, grim cloth obscuring the majority of his grisly Mirror physique. A fell voice rasped from a grey and red striped throat, "You reek of self-absorbed righteousness, just like your accursed father! I shall relish turning you into a fluffy rug!" The eyes of the mortals could not follow. In the blink of an eye, Lord Ladarius was fighting with Noctis'Timore like a pair of rabid dogs. There were flashes of an iridescent and fluid-like shield whenever Noctis'Timore's mighty paws tried to strike at Lord Ladarius. The dark one would shriek in fury when his blows would not connect. He was trying to shatter Lord Ladarius's shield so hard that his own claws were breaking. Even the ground gave way into craters. Yet Lord Ladarius's shield didn't even show as much as a scratch. Unable to get passed Lord Ladarius, Noctis'Timore was forced to retreat. Queen Raisa stepped out of the temple to stand next to Lord Ladarius. She looked down her snout at him. "The next time that wretched thing comes here, can you lure him away from where we are trying to work?" Lord Ladarius produced an amused huff. "What an ungrateful Queen you are."[/i] [rule] Where is Ladarius and Orion at the moment? [i]Valoria. Prince Fredrick was impressed by how smoothly following the Lord's instructions was. They located the Valorian's new capitol and thankfully they were all so busy with building. It was also a very good thing that Prince Fredrick was so forgettable. He blended into a band of dragons that was visiting Valoria to get a look at Queen Raisa. When he was sufficiently deep inside the temple, Prince Fredrick searched high and low for his Auntie. He found her lounging in an extravagant chamber. He looked over his shoulder, afraid that the mentioned Prince Sirius would somehow materialize. "Oh please Lord Therakyss spare me. Auntie! Your sister has an egg! She needs your help!" Arapeta was openly shocked. "Wait... Aurora? When? How? Who?" Prince Fredrick ran around Arapeta and began pushing her. "I'll have to tell you on the way, come on!" And like a ghost, Prince Fredrick rescued his Aunt Arapeta right out from under the noses of the Valorians. Just a heads up, I will be taking a break from Flight Rising soon. So if you don't see regular updates to this challenge, that's why.

As boring as it may be for lore, for the duration of my break, those lore "years" will just be uneventful where the Kingdoms are focused on building up their strength and hunting. So basically treat it as if the sessions kept rolling the hunting event. That way I don’t have to worry about leveling the dragons up. This will keep the time progression in the challenge so that when I return and the hatchlings are adults it is not so sudden.
