Have you considered just changing his secondary and tertiary? I really like how giraffe looks because it looks like the ripples on the water in some art styles. But the secondary on the other one with the flowers would make him look like a ghibli pond.

I completely agree on the half makeover. Definitely keep the primary, and definitely change the scondary & tertiary! This would also match the atmosphere/vibe of his profile pictures perfectly. Such wonderful aesthetics, by the way :)
