It looks WAY better when you don't have a side view of the gene, like being able to see both sides, even slightly, helps a TON
I think maybe it would've helped the balance of the gene if there were also fins near the head or hips/tail region, instead of the gene being in one concentrated area! This would've probably helped the full side view poses as well,,

I mean, it's nice, but it's not much of a crest isn't it? More like a wedding dress than crest.

On the one hand, I like how it looks, but on the other - the coverage feels a bit to small. Like, all of it is concentrated on one part of the dragon, and the rest is totally bare, so it feels incomplete, more like a fest outfit piece vs a full tert gene

It's a beautiful, elegant gene. It's obviously meant to look like goldfish/beta fish fins (very flowy) turning into waves/water at the ends. Very creative.
However, I have 1 problem with it. No matter what color you choose, it turns blue at the ends. Great for already-blue dragons, horrible for anything else. I am both awed (positive) and disappointed. It's a weird take, but it's mine.

If I'm being honest I kinda forgot festival genes were a thing so I'm not too sure what I would've expected lmao.

Easily the worst festival gene for me. I'm sure it'll be nice for like, fish dragons, but it's still pretty disappointing.
I think the biggest thing that kills its usability is how every color fades to blue. Why couldn't it be based on an accent color or something?
