TOPIC | Dragons based on IRL objects
A couple days ago I was talking about Fish, a dragon based on a plush rainbow trout that I bought 15 years ago. He was thrown around a lot because he was super aerodynamic, and even now the phrase "Take dis fish" has survived as a household expression when sending things back and forth. And yesterday, Buggy Boi came to life, a dragon based off one of my fossils, who has been in the works for a few months. (I absolutely call my trilobites that) --- But it got me thinking: how many people out there have dragons that are based on objects they own? Characters, fandragons, pets, flags, even food are all very common, but what about random things that are loved so much you have to make them come to life? The very first one I can say I have is Conan here. Based off a crow statue I bought for myself when I was a kid, and I can say was my first "project dragon" ever on FR. Statue has been chipped since then but I still have it. Self explanatory I think [emoji=coatl tongue size=1] Even though that Stained to make his tone match my sample exactly is barely noticeable and kind of a waste of gems. --- Surely though there must be others out there who have made dragons like this. More plushies? Is there a water bottle dragon out there? Does someone have a dragon based on their car? A pair of shoes? I think I have seen a couple people's computer dragons in the past based on their own setups, but beyond that it seems that dragons that are meant to represent something often go into abstract territory and aren't connected to something very specific. I'd like to see if these types of dragons exist! And of course read any stories that might be attached to them.

I don't have any, but I just want to say I love how "take dis fish" is like a household meme for you and now it's a dragon

yours are all so sweet! A lot of my dragons are *named* after stuff from real life, but the best example of one that actually is meant to represent it is Webb. She's named for the James Webb Space Telescope :) Instead of going for a golden mechanical look, I went for a red space-inspired dragon to represent her ability to see deeply redshifted galaxies! Not unique whatsoever, given this is a subspecies, but I have Fossilite here, who is named for petrified wood!

I love space and I have quite a few "fandragons" based off space objects. I have James, named after the James Webb Space Telescope his appearance is based off the first photo JWST took (photo in his bio) Accretion is based off the accretion disk, the red glowing rings around black holes. i love buggy boi! trilobites are so cool and the dragon is a very cute representation of the fossils (: i have fandragons of my game boy advance, ds and 3ds! i love nintendo handheld consoles (if the username didn't make it obvious lol), and with the amount of aesthetic and/or software modifications i've done to all 3 of them, they're very special to me.
