This is Sago, a technician who uses quite the unusual source to power his magic. Rather than magic or electricity or something of that sort, he uses the souls of dead creatures of all sorts to power his inventions. He doesn't kill anything, but if he happens upon a dead mouse or a noggle, he takes them back to his shop to extract their souls. One thing even his work partner doesn't know about is that he does this with dragons too, which is certainly even more questionable. He reckons that they would want to be able to continue to help their living loved ones if they could, right? Besides, his inventions help with the functioning of the village. Still, it'd be best if no one found that part of his methods out.
