xxxxxOne thing even Pisces doesn’t know about is how he gets his most powerful souls. Mice and noggles only have so much power after all. Sometimes, for extra big projects, getting so many souls is such a hassle and it would be much easier to get one big, really powerful soul. Aside from the deities, dragons have the most powerful souls. So, sometimes after Cypress is done with his embalming rituals, Sago will sneak into his work station with his soul extractor. The sooner the better, since the longer you wait, the more of the soul is lost into the entire essence of Sorienth. Hey- listen- I know it sounds unethical but the dragons don’t need their souls anymore. They’re dead. And if their souls did have a conscious, wouldn’t they be happy that they get to continue helping out the village even after they passed? Surely they wouldn’t mind. Besides, all of his inventions are for the good of the village anyways. Without using souls, how would his inventions work so seamlessly for so long? Arcane magic can only do so much, and so can electricity. Souls are a really really good power source if you look past the fact that they’re from dead things. Still, hopefully Gardenia, or anyone else for that matter, doesn’t find out. That could be really, really messy.

Sago has always been good at anything crafty. Something in the house breaks? Fixed. Need to make a contraption to aid the elderly in doing their daily tasks? Done. Want a giant machine that could easily obliterate any foe that came near the village but won’t because Gardenia said it was unethical? Piece of cake.
Gardenia is a wonderful village leader, but she has a very soft heart. There is no doubt that she would have a heart attack if she found out how Sago powered his inventions. What might that power source be would you ask? Souls. Souls of dead things. The whole village (except for Pisces, his work partner), thinks he is just extremely sentimental over the dead. And while he does spend a lot of time with dead things, it’s not for mourning. It’s for soul extraction. He takes carcasses of all kinds and brings them to his work station and extracts their souls. He’s not a monster, though, he has a very nice box he puts them all in for a mini burial ceremony that he holds biweekly. It doesn’t really matter to them though, again, their souls are already extracted from the bodies so they really couldn’t care less where the corpses go. Probably. Sago hasn’t asked the souls, nor does he know if that’s even a possibility. That would be a really cool invention though… |
