Not much is known of Navi's past before coming to Vasari's court, only that she had garnered a reputation for foretelling disaster. Knowing this, Vasari endeavoured to have her barred from the kingdom, however she instead claimed to sense greatness in the King's future. Thus she was permitted to stay at court, at least for now.

Navi does indeed know that great change is on the horizon. For decades, she has been whispering in the ears of the powerful, foretelling disaster, telling them how to avoid it, and so sealing their fate. If she can just manipulate Vasari into thinking what she says is real, perhaps she can sway him from his violent reign.
