Please feel free to take artistic liberty with him, and simplify if needed! Anubis is based on the egyptian mythology, and is overall on the divine, protective, and sublime side personality-wise; I like the idea of ordering a chibi for him though, because he is also somewhat adorable and fluffy and charming (probably without wanting it to be), so I imagine him more like a little underworld spirit which guards and accompanies lost souls, so they feel comfortable on their way to the underworld.
