Box 1 is a glittering black hole. Stars swirl down to where you can't see, and you feel yourself being pulled along with them. You think it would almost be beautiful, because it is wondrous to think you could be shining bright just like the stars, but you know the inevitability of where you're going. It won't be pretty, but for now, you can breathe in the fresh air you know isn't there, and look at the pretty stars.
Box 2 is strange. It has an odor, but one you can't place. You can't tell whether it smells like third grade or if it's something you'd rather not be smelling at all. It's not bad, or you can't tell if it's bad, but it's familiar. Your hands start to feel sticky against your sides and an oozy feeling passes through you. Anyone would feel dejected by this, but your curiosity gets the better of you and you reach for the box.
Box 3 is stitched together at the sides. You desperately don't want to be here anymore, and try your best not to walk away from the boxes. It's alright, the box says. I know what you're feeling. I can fix that. This doesn't put you at ease, but the box isn't lying. This you know. Your skin crawls and the wrongness of being here overwhelms your senses. It will be alright. What can you do but take a tentative step toward the box?
